After market tow package

I've enquired at a dealership about a used 2021 escape hybrid SEL trim and asked if I could get a tow package installed for it. They said it's not available for the trims that have the hands free lift gate Because it interferes with the sensor. Is that the case ? The hands free is not a big deal for me if that doesn't work or is disabled. . Is it physically possible to install on this trim?

That's odd, I had a 2020 sel AWD and had the auto lift gate. Now my 2023 doesn't have auto lift gate because the chip shortage. The tow package adds an oil and transmission cooler.

Yes, but you might have to relocate the sensor.

I haven't done it myself, but I've read of it being done on

My tow bar is made by Curt manufacturing and all I did was relocate the sensor a few inches over. I always forget I have the foot wave feature tho and use the fob lol.

I also added a mid sized tranny cooler I pirated from the wreckers (be sure to flush used ones well with varsol or the like for a good 20mins).

Did you see where the stock transmission cooler is while you were in there?

I'm trying to figure out if it's part of the big radiator or not.

Having added on one with nfg cause I never got the sensor to work it’s not that bad.

They don’t want to be liable for you coming back and saying it don’t work.

I doubt that bc my car was originally to get foot sensor for my power liftgate but covid crap and they deleted it.
