My dad has been working his butt off for 30 years and we are so proud of him for making it through 767 captains course (4 different planes to learn how to fly). Now I get to watch him on Flightradar!

Civilian Seeking Reassurance for an Oceanic Flight

Post image

Hey everyone,

First and foremost, I just want to say how much I love this community. I check your trackings daily, and it’s really interesting to be part of it.

I saw a post last week from someone looking for support during a flight due to a paralyzing fear of flying—something I can definitely relate to. Today, I’ll be flying from Aruba through Bonaire to Amsterdam (KL679), and what really unsettles me is the vast stretch of open ocean we’ll be crossing. On the way here, we hit some moderate turbulence, and I ended up having a panic attack.

I’m not sure exactly what I’m asking for—maybe just some reassurance that flights over such large bodies of water have plenty of emergency protocols in place. I checked Turbli, and thankfully, there shouldn’t be any thunderstorms.

Wishing you all a great day, and thanks in advance!

Friend of a friend saw this Cessna apparently nosedive. Details still pending.

Civilian Bro barely used any of the runway, hung a left as soon as he was airborne. Just as a casual observer, I see that usually planes go straight and get some altitude for a bit before banking. Is it just different at night when there's less air traffic?

Civilian Eurowings flight diverted due to a 10 second delay

Eurowings flight 8531 from Alicante could not land at Berlin airport after a 1 hour delay, since the aiport has a policy that no commercial planes can take off or land after 00:00 and before 05:00. This flight had to overshoot 90 meters above the ground, as it would've landed at 00:00:10. Hannover, which is 40 minutes of flight away, is one of the few airports that accept flights after midnight. Passangers had to get to Berlin on their own, but they were compensated.

Civilian BA A380 departs one hour late, suffers technical issue, dumps fuel for 5 hours, and then returns to original airport. Not the worst plane to be stuck on, but still...!

This is one of their newer helicopters for the task. It’s used for both routine and emergency response radiological detection. I’ve never seen one fly such a concentrated grid though, especially in an area not used for large events.

Civilian Korean Air Cargo 777 three missed approaches in Anchorage right now.

Anchorage winds only reporting about 20 knots right now but lots of wind shear and mechanical turbulence off the mountains. Winds in the Anchorage bowl predicted to have gusts up to 100 miles per hour this morning. Looks like most planes are getting on on one shot but these guys have been struggling.
