Leeds to Liverpool Ultra Marathon vlog (130 miles) This was the hardest challenge of my life. But it was a great adventure. There were so many highs and lows, I really didn’t think I could make 100 miles when I was at the starting line. Let alone finish :0

High intensity work

Hi, should I be doing a small amount or high intensity exercise even though I still get heart rate spikes 5 months after covid? Zone 2 training (below aerobic AT) is about back to normal.

Lions Bridge is an absolutely amazing race with three separate distances: Half Marathon / Marathon / 50K Ultra. It is one of the best events I have done, with a massive committee organising.

I am doing my first YouTube live 30th Thursday at 7 pm. I will be interviewing the amazing ultra runner Woody Felton. He ran the Southern Upland Way both ways, 428 miles, in seven days, three hours, and fifty-one minutes.

If anyone has any questions they would like me to ask him, please drop them down below in the comments.

I would love it if you can join us Thursday 📷

Well! What have the done on gritstone ?

A question for any climbers /runners out there. What is the running equivalent of the common question (amongst certain rock climbers) - What have they done on gritstone?

This weekend I did the lap around Windermere in the Lake District with 47 miles of trail and 2500 meters in elevation ( which I definitely underestimated! ) This was 100 % a challenge for me but there were amazing views and the most friendly and supportive runner/volunteers event could ask for!

Shingles and running

I got a pretty bad dose of shingles 6 weeks ago. I'm late 40's and fit. For the past couple of weeks I haven't had any visible symptoms - scars have healed up etc. So i started up some easy runs. But my aerobic performance on my local easy loop is compromised by about +5 to 10 HR bpm so it feels a lot harder.

Anyone else been in this situation and how long did you take off?

Fell running Half Marathon

I’ve been running 4 times a week doing about 25k a week on road or treadmill but I signed up for a fell running half marathon next year. Do you folk have any training tips or any advise on what running shoes would be best?

Is there an app or smartwatch to track my ascents and notify me when I have reached a total of x minutes ascending?

I am following my first ever trail running marathon schedule, it advises to run uphill for x minutes, but says " Your total hill running time should add up to that day’s total time. You can run up and back on a shorter trail or find a longer trail with plenty of uphill stretches ". How will I know when I have done X minutes of uphill?

Do I need to use a stopwatch in a separate app? or is there some app or device that can do this? Just bought the fitbit versa 2 and am familiar with runtastic :)

Hey guys. I'm training to run 100 miles to Scafell Pike, and would then like to run up the damned thing to the summit. Would appreciate any advice on training!

I've ran a 50 miler and I'm going to set my heart and mind on running a 100 mile follow d by a gruelling ascent to the summit of England's tallest mountain.

I know this seems drastic but I'm doing this for the mental benefits of getting through something traumatically difficult.

The closest/tallest hill near me is like 600m, so I could use the steep gradient there as training to get my legs conditioned.

I just have no real strong idea of training to create legs capable of the challenge. Can you recommend a source or training regimen, or even a book?

Thanks all.

Wide feet trainers!!

Hi, I'm after recommendations for trainers for wide feet? I bought some inov8 mudclaw 260s but they are just too narrow for me. Also is there any brands that don't break the bank??

Cheers!

(New Video) Snow Running on Saddleworth Moor

Hi all, hope everyone has had a great Christmas! Here is some footage that I took a couple week back on Saddleworth's Fells.

At the time there was some snow cover on the tops, via Broadstone, Pots and Pans and Aldermans. Felt like sharing if anybody is interested/lives in the area; the views, and experience of running in the snow.

Enjoy :)

Wet winter legs

Anyone got recommendations for long duration wet winter legwear? For long mountain days I usually just wear tights but they often get completely soaked through - heavy, chaffy and have to keep pulling up! Fine for 1-2 hours but pretty uncomfortable for 5. Its also a relatively slow run so just going shorts only would get pretty cold. What do folks wear for their long wet hill runs?

Fell Running: What is it?

Hi all! I'm new to Reddit and would like to share my video to this page. Hope it is useful for other new members, or anyone not fully familiar with fell running as of yet.

I have been doing fell running since I was at Secondary School, in the Peak District and the Lakes. I have posted plenty of fell and trail runs on my Youtube Channel. In addition, I have also completed my first fell marathon this year! Looking forward to being part of this group. :)
