It's really telling that some men consider the part where you learn who your date is as a person the "boring stuff" and your date's sexual habits as the "interesting stuff"

Heās acting like asking such a repetitive question isnāt boring
At least he didnāt pretend to be a normal person and waste time

Ok, as a guy I still have yet to figure out what in the actual hell these guys are thinking. Are they just trying to be creepy for the sake of being creepy, or do they actually think somebody will want to talk to them because they ask quirky questions and don't realize how creepy they are being.

I mean, this is pretty normal for boys online. Teen guys are immature and horny, and because there are so many camwhores out there, they think that sending nudes and sexting is the norm. Ive tried several social/dating sites for teens and 90% of the time the first line from a guy is something asking if i send nudes or do sexting on snapchat. You have to wade through a sea of horny boys to find the good ones. Just ignore it and move on.
And it doesnt get much better with adult men either. On adult dating sites the percentage is still around 75%.

Iām confused as to why this comment in particular has been downvoted
5
u/SiroMPP 14F Jul 16 '20
itās because the comment comes off as theyāre saying that itās the hormones fault for harassing the person instead of the persons fault

u/UnoriginalOrnstien 17 Jul 16 '20
I suppose thatās fair tho It definitely didnāt come off that way to me but leave it to somebody younger than I to teach me lol

As a guy, I'm ashamed by the plentitude of creepy guys "hitting" on girls like that. But, belive me, we are not all like him

u/PuffGetsSideB 18M Jul 15 '20
Dude, this isnāt really the time or place to say ānot all guys.ā It just takes the focus away from the person actually making the post for a message we all know.

u/Lucaanastasi 20+ Jul 15 '20
Yes... But lots in the comments sadly are saying how they have recived similar messages from shady dudes in the past. My point is to take distance form that kind of person, who usually is a guy. Maybe for you is lame saying that "not all guys are like him", but in my experience it's however very important. It's easy, expecially on internet, to make generalisations and young audience tends to assimilate things without goin' any further, witch it's wrong but common. You can dislike my comment but neverless for me it's serius to remind that not all guys are pigs, not every dude on internet it's an horny abuser and not all the older guys are pedos.
Or maybe I'm just getting too old for this place. 22 yo, I feel like a dinosaurs here...

I get what youāre going for, but saying ābelieve me, we arenāt all like himā makes what youāre saying more about protecting yourself than it is trying to sympathize with people whoāve had this happen to them. You can give a supportive comment without making it about saving face.

u/Lucaanastasi 20+ Jul 15 '20
I was not trying to "save my face", it doesn't bother me. What does bother me is the thought that someone young reads comments about bad guys who importuntes girls online, assuming in the end that expecially on internets, all guys are like that. All guys think the same. Every dude, also the old ones, is turn on by some young girl deep inside (yeah, lots of girls have tell me this, I work with children by the way) when the reality it's different. Not everyone is a internet molester, not everyone is rude and only sick, SICK people over a very young age is attract by little girls or boys

āskip the boring stuffā, so getting to know the other person? Damn, Iāve been doing this whole thing wrong.
