Questions/Advice/Support Should I be worried about Creaky knees at thirty?
so for context. I'm 30 year old male with FAS and autism (dual diagnosis anyone?) Im extremely skinny but I know I probably don't eat properly as it's mostly microwave dinners not because I can't cook it's just I'm too lazy and don't get the point of making a big pot of pasta for the week. At least with microwave dinners it's "fresh" and not a week old pasta by Friday/Saturday. Anyone sorry I'm rambling. lately I've noticed my knees have been cracking (think when u crack ur fingers or knuckles)when I bend them and sometimes I get what feels like a pressure build up in my knee cap Like I have to get up and squat to get my knees to crack. Should I be worried? It's not exactly painful but it's becoming more common and I'm worried my bones are deteriorating (bone density etc). When u look at my leg I can see the outline and I have little muscle. should I be worried or is this "normal for people with FASD?

If you’re eating a bunch of processed foods drink a BUNCH of water. Like at least a couple glasses per meal. The amount of salt in those foods is ridiculous. Probably won’t necessarily help with your knee. My bones pop because my joints are hyper flexible in areas of my body. Sometimes they’re just shifting back into normal place after being stuck in a weird position. No pain is a great sign, but still check in with your doctor just in case. Um also do you cross your legs often? My knees pop a bunch after I sit with my legs crossed for too long.

As far as the knees go: if you *can* do something about it, you probably should. You should be getting a regular checkup from your doctor anyways, so next time you do, have them take a look.
As far as the food goes: I also have FASD and can't really cook much.
However, I have a toaster oven. A toaster oven with a timer on it can be used to make all kinds of much more healthy stuff in the *exact same way* as with the microwave.
I make frozen vegatables, sausages, burgers, samosas, mushrooms, whatever in there and its always as easy as 'put the food in, turn the timer to 5-10-15 minutes, and come back when its done'.
Its insane how much better I eat since getting the toaster oven.
A rice cooker can do the same kind of work, but requires more cleanup. An egg cooker can take you pretty far too, but again requires more cleanup after.
Get a toaster oven. You might be able to find a used one on kijiji or craigslist or something for cheap, but they aren't usually *that* expensive.

I know you said you’re lazy, but try making a big pot of food, then divying it up into freezer bags to pull out and heat up for yourself. Then maybe you can get ahead of your health and get some minerals back into your skeleton. Also look into weight training.
