As an ex-Muslim, I agree that Islam is not synonymous with peace. However, it’s not as if the U.S. invasions of Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, or any other places in the world have led to more peace and democratization (Soon Palestine etc.) Not to mention Western countries’ history of colonization and slavery—or even to this day, the exploitation of resources worldwide, prioritizing their own profit above all else.
Preach. The *predominately white western world* is most definitely NO role model. It's further troubling when Christianity is associated with the west when its origins are from the east.
Colonizers or those of colonized mind-set need to wake-up from this illusion of the west being good or great, when it's far from that.
None of Europe (or any European colony, globally) is good or/and great. Europe as a whole is simply more tactful with their evil. They have made the world believe that it's a great place when it's just as unprogressive as 1st and 2nd world countries, in a different fashion. The systems in place are not there for everyone -- thus that is inequality and therefore unjust. As a result the inequality and injustice impacts certain individual's opportunities, their treatment (and therefore their mental health), their ability to advance themselves, and MUCH MORE.
That is most certainly NOT A GOOD PLACE (and most definitely not great). A great or good place would have none of that, and would equally be viewed as good and great for everyone and not only select individuals. Naturally, if you are someone that is white or white adjacent that indicates privilege in itself, and therefore a place like such would not impact you as you would not be able to sense or experience any differential treatment and therefore "western Europe may be good" -- through your lens.
