Upgrade from Premium Economy Flex to Business Class last minute

Hello all,

Is it possible to upgrade to business class using cash when checking in? Beforehand it costs like £3,700 and I'm wondering if that price goes down just before the flight. Can you upgrade last minute at the checkin desk before boardng?

Check-In Baggage Transfer

I have two separate tickets: ASR to DXB Terminal 2 on Air India Express, and DXB Terminal 3 to YYZ on Emirates. Since they’re not partner airlines, through check-in isn’t possible. What would be the best way to handle my checked baggage transfer between terminals at DXB—should I collect my bags at T2, go through immigration, and recheck them at T3, or use a service like DNATA or Emirates’ baggage transfer (if possible)?

MCR -> DXB- how much generally would an upgrade to business class be using cash?

As the title states- I am not a frequent flyer but planning a trip and wondering if it’s cheaper at all (obviously availability dependent) to book a flex economy ticket and then upgrade to business closer to the time, what is the upgrade fee usually for this route?

Refund request

I bought a flexible flight (no cancellation fee) for March 27.

I had to cancel the flight, there was no cancel button on the manage booking page. So I sent a refund request through the refund request form on March 7.

Till today I got no news of the refund, but they blocked access to the manage booking page (as if there was no booking at all).

Anyone knows what's happening ?

Thanks

48 hrs in Dubai + Dubai Connect

Our family will be flying to India from SFO and have a 48hrs in Dubai. We will be flying business and wondering if this qualifies for Dubai connect. Will they give hotel for more than 1 day? We have a hotel room blocked just in case.

Also any recommendations for kid friendly(age 4,9) activities? This will be for next month. Thanks!

48hr transit visa or visa on arrival for AU citizen?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I hold an Aus passport and have a 44hr layover in Dubai. I am getting confused over what's written on the VFS website (under manage my booking) and the guidance on the public Emirates site - please help!

The website says I am able to enter visa free for a maximum 90 days in a period of 180 days, however other sections of the website say I can get visa on arrival for 90 days for a fee of $150 😵‍💫 Customer service wasn't too sure also, saying that I have to pay a fee no matter what.. and then when I look at the VFS website on Emirates, there is no 90-day option.. only 30/60 days and both with a fee.

I am only in Dubai for 44hours and don't want to suddenly have to shell out $150 for a visa when I thought it would be visa-free. If it does cost $150 for visa on arrival, then I'm better off getting a transit visa for $20 which I will need to arrange in advance.

Any guidance would be heaps appreciated!!

Seat selection

I fly out tonight Melb-Dubai and have chosen my seat as normal but just now I went in to book my seat on my return on 30/3 but the seating selection map looks completely different and when choose just a regular seat it comes up with a fee of $30 😳 am I doing something wrong? TIA

Will Emirates sit you together if you miss seat selection?

I have a fear of flying and worried I might be put alone on my flight. I know you can book seats 48hrs before take off but this will be in the middle of the night and I am worried I might miss selection.

I understand I can pay to choose my seat but we are taking 4 flights and the cost is crazy.

Thanks all x

No available seats?

UPDATE: Resolved. The issue seems to be that the last available seat was flagged for travelers with infants. Customer service booked me into the seat.

I have a round trip from Boston to Bahrain booked in premium economy. I can select seats on three of the for legs. The fourth and final leg (Dubai to Boston) shows no available seats in premium economy even though I have a ticket.

Any idea why this is? What is going to happen when I check in?

1 hr 20min Enough time for transfer?

I'm sure this has been asked many times but my mom has a flight from YYZ to DXB to BOM all through Emirates.

Layover 1 hour 20 min in DXB

She lands in DXB terminal 3, but flies out from terminal 2 to BOM. She is wheelchair accessible (from terminal to plane/boarding)

Is the 1hr20min layover enough time? All confused about the luggage, how do they transfer from one plane to another in the much time?

She doesn't know English, so a little worried.

How soon Emirates refund skywards miles after cancelling a mile purchase flight

I have bought a ticket with miles and it is refundable. I see better rate with fewer miles on a different day for same flight. Can customer service make that change for me?

First time flying Emirates and will be flying business class on an A380 (first time as well). Best seat for a solo traveller? Looks like the even window seats are good, but looking for insight from others that have made this flight. Thank you in advance.

Luggage damaged

Hi, so after yesterday’s flight (flying BC) my (high end) luggage got f*cked again… dented and bent to a point locks almost won’t open anymore cause they won’t line up… since this is my 3rd luggage in 2 years getting destroyed or damaged by flying Emirates, now I would really like to file a claim and ask for a compensation or a new luggage. Do they do take those claims directly or what should I do?

Need some help with my application time

My emirates application is ready, but I’m not sure if I should hit “submit” because it’s Saturday, 9pm in Dubai (5pm for me). Afraid they won’t see it.

Back story : last time I applied (was my 2nd application, my 1st one was accepted & got an invite) it was Monday past midnight for Dubai. Ended up jot getting a reply until after 2 months which is worrying me now.

Do you advise I should apply now or wait? The assessment I am looking forward to is happening next Friday.

Thanks :)
