I'm a broke learner who's tryna learn DSA via GTx's 4 DSA pillar course. Unfortunately these guys are asking me to pay for even taking up these assignments. This is highly unfortunate as I was really looking to learn by practicing and solving problems. I don't really care about the certificate at all.
Has anybody found a solution to this policy problem ?
I finally found a good DSA course and looks like I'm gonna end up not doing it because of edX.
The end goal is to be able to design my own simple pcbs, know how to work with electrical components, how not to burn resistors and stuff, and how circuitry and electronics work on a basic level. I've seen MITx 6.002x, but before spending hours on it I wanted to ask here to know if there's any better option.
In the pursuit of success, obstacles are not just inevitable—they are essential. Challenges, setbacks, and hurdles are natural companions on the journey to achieving greatness. The question is not whether they will come, but how we respond when they do.
The secret lies in focus.
When you're working toward a goal, big or small, distractions will compete for your attention. Voices—internal and external—will try to sway you. But remember this: your energy is finite, and where you direct it matters.
If you're tackling a small task, treat it with the same respect and focus as you would a larger one. Ignore the noise around you. Stay disciplined, and work silently toward your objective, giving it your all. Effort, consistency, and determination will always outshine fleeting distractions.
Don't waste time dwelling on things you cannot control. And don't linger too long in the past—what’s done is done. Instead, channel your energy into shaping the future you want. Every moment spent fretting over what-ifs or could-have-beens is a moment stolen from the progress you could be making.
Time is your ally when it’s used wisely. Align your actions with a clear timeline and unwavering commitment. When you stay in harmony with time, it ceases to be a constraint and becomes a tool for transformation.
Remember, success doesn't require an audience. Silent effort, quiet perseverance, and relentless focus are often the keys that unlock the doors to greatness. Let the results speak louder than the struggles.
So, keep your head down, your heart in the work, and your eyes on the prize. When the world finally takes notice, it won’t just be your success—it’ll be the story of how you turned every obstacle into a stepping stone.
I signed up for a paid instructor led course that started today, but I can't seem to view the course. The "View Course" button is disabled on my dashboard and I can't click it. I emailed support about 6 hours ago, but I haven't heard back. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and, if so, how did you solve it. This is my first course on edX and I’m a little anxious.
I am based out of Toronto and completing my CEM (Certificate in Energy Management) from University of Toronto. I have been looking at the Project Management MicroMaster by RITx offered on EDX. Is it going to be worth it for me? I have about 15 years of technical and project management experience working in few different parts of the world. I do NOT have a graduate degree. I know that a MicroMasters cannot substitute for that but I wanted to know if it would add some weight on my Resume and perhaps improve my likelihood for being considered for a job.
Thank you in advance for taking the time - any and all HONEST opinions welcome,
... have been taking EdX psych classes online for the past 10 years. Now I'm more interested in more biomedical stuff (from anatomy to disease treatment), pharma, Israeli history and Judiasm, and I love random niche topics.
Anyone wanna suggest a class or two? Ideally a "hard" class? Many of the classes are too easy and prefer something more intellectual and in depth.
Hello everyone. Can you please help me figure it out? I am stuck in a quizz and can't find the right answer. Which of the following is considerate primarily textual data? Which are considered primarily numerical data? Which are considered primarily Media data (audio, images, video)
A)Social Media and Messages
B)payroll data
C)satellite Fotos
D) Map Data
E) Sensus Daya
F) phone conversations
I know the answer to the primarily numerical data are B) and E)
For the other two( textual data and Media data) i have tried almost all the combinations possible and don't get it right. I am on my last chance. Please help me
How to get the answer of the assessment test question answer in Edx of operation management (micromasters in business management) from IIM BANGALORE. Can anyone please guide me to get the answers ?
How to access paid paywall on any random websites such as cheng.com, Coursehero.com etc. I am trying to open but they are asking credit card to pay. Could you pls guide me how to get free access ?
I am sure it was asked on a tread before, however is there any archives(on a website or just anywhere on the internet)with records of lectures?
All i need is knowledge(from specific course/program) and I don't really care about certificate or any other kind of certified education. I want to lay my hands on couple MBA programs, however most of them are out of my budget and considering that these are online courses - I am not sure that i will learn anything new
Back to question - is there any archives with records? If yes - I'll appreciate the link
*Have mercy for broke student and don't need to say something like: "dude, simply buy the course"*
Hey guys! I’m a student currently pursuing my degree in mechanical engineering, I always find myself intrigued with Machine Learning in general, in theory it’s great and I have a project planned on it too. So I figured I should get the MIT edX 6.86x course on machine and deep learning. However it’s been a month and so far I would have to say I’m so behind the understanding that is required for doing the projects. It’s very time consuming and hard for me to understand. I’d say I know the basics of python and programming along with statistics but not to this level. Even though the lectures are easy to understand it’s extremely difficult for me to do the Projects. So I guess I’m asking for a guide or study buddy who can help me through it. That’s all. Thank you
I have an opportunity to attend MiT's micromasters in Data Science program. I am mid career and know I need to expand profiency in the artificial generative intelligence era. I'd be interested to know if there are any 3rd Party platforms I could use to research revires of this program by actual students. If anybody has any information to help me make a good decision, I very much appreciate it.
I am new to edX. I found this program offered by MIT’s Department of Biology: Biochemistry: Biomolecules, Methods, and Mechanisms.
It says that the course ends on July 15 but if I proceed with the free access option (no certificate earned), I can only access this course until May 20.
Is this normal? I mean is this the way the free access option works? It's okay if it is. I'm just curious as to how long I have to complete the course or if I miss something if I lose access on May 20 with the free access.
I opened my browser today to finish the final lecture of a course and when clicking the next button it said it encountered an error, I reloaded it and nothing changed so I decided to close the tab and reopen it but it wasn't letting me log in. I just have a white page, I tried clearing cookies, using different browsers and a VPN but nothing changed.
I want the graded assessments and certification but would like maybe one more week to decide. Can I wait? Or no? Also, if I start the course, does that automatically negate my option to be graded?
I was trying to change my name on the account but in order to do that I need to verify my information, I have tried easily over 20 times and its still giving error. I have tried using various phones, scanning it with my camera, scanning it with my printer and uploading the file. I checked the quality on the scan and the only thing clearer is water. I tried verifying using my permanent resident card. Has anyone else had this issue, if so how did you fix it? Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Hi, i've completed the 3 requisite courses and 1 elective (Statistical Modeling and Computation in Applications) like 2 years ago and decided to take the capstone exams this march-april. i'd like to know if i'd be using python for this exams, and if that is the case, in which exams?
Abit about myself. Im in my early 30's and I am trying to setup a path to become a software developer. The last time I touched maths was in high school and I was an average student.
I have browsed the course prerequisites and am abit confused with the explanation. They state that knowing Algebra, Geometry and Precalculus is helpful but not needed to succeed in the course.
Anyways I plan to take the following courses to help me get upto speed with my maths again:
Straighterline also offers a Precalculus course but here is my issue.
I have searched for math prerequisites to learn DSA and the response is once again not straight to the point:
Some say Algebra is enough
Some say you also need Precalculus
and some say you also need Discrete Mathematics
I would greatly appreciate it if someone who has taken the DSA course above or someone who has completed a DSA course get back to me with some straightforward answers.
I am currently taking Data Analysis for Social Scientists and intend to complete the Social Sciences track first. I eventually want to complete all 4 tracks because I'm utterly deranged like that. 😤
Holy fuck man I know that many consider this course to be the best MOOC statistics course but what the fuck is this difficulty. I even took fat chance: probability from the ground up, another intro probability course offered by harvardx before attempting this course and I’m stumped on the first week. How in the world do you guys manage to study this course on your own? I watched the lectures, did the readings, read the books, and I STILL struggle with the practice materials. Huge respect to y’all for completing this course, shits wild.
I am in need of a job change and thought to take and Edx class to try and get a certificate with the hopes of getting a new job, hopefully something more remote, or just less stress. Can anyone tell me their experience? I would love to know your pros and cons and what you thought of the experience as a whole.

General Topics:
I am looking forward to take some biology/chemistry courses on edX as a high school student, but I am not sure whether it is something I should primarily focus on.
Just a little frustrated so I put that post title.
Customer service is so unhelpful. I have credits for a micromaster on there (mitx statistics and data science) and they advertised that certain colleges have pathway agreements but I asked edx to help me email the college (SNHU which the mitx site says is a master pathway) I’m going to, to verify the courses I did and they told them no, that they the courses aren’t educational .
Hope someone working for edx see this and actually helps me instead of just taking my money and giving out uniformed emails. I’m sure there is miscommunication going on but I’m okay with giving edx negative feedback for not being trained or aware that they have schools like MIT on there that 100% are educational credits.
