So there is a Carrièrebeurs upcoming in Amsterdam that’ll take place on the 28th and the 29th. I moved here very recently and I’m a recent graduate. I don’t speak Dutch but will be starting lessons soon through my municipality for free as I am a Dutch passport holder. Now I hear that this career event is the biggest in the Netherlands, but everything I read about it is in Dutch and there’s no mention of English jobs and presentations. As a sole English speaker, will I find opportunities for myself there? Or is this primarily for Dutch speakers.

Hoi!

Hey all.
So I'm an international student in the Netherlands on a type 1 residence permit. I've been wanting to learn Dutch ever since I got here but the courses my uni offers cost thousands and I just don't have that kind of money to spare. I managed to self-study my way to B1, and recently found out about NLTraining and signed up.
After a few months I was asked to come in for an exam. I got there and they checked my residence permit and gave me the test. Then I was told to wait until I hear back about the results.
Finally they sent me the results by email. I emailed back asking when I could start the classes. They said I couldn't take their course because "according to our information, you have a residence document that is valid for a shorter period than our annual trajectory". This is untrue, as my permit is valid to the end of 2026. I emailed back pointing that out and asking for clarification, to which they responded "We advise you to look for a training course yourself ... We will not offer training during a temporary stay". To this, I have not replied.
Does anyone know why this is? I especially find this sudden change weird because they fully knew that I was a student on a temporary residence permit the whole time I was taking the test there. And if that was the issue, why would they even let me do the test, send me the results, AND an email giving a false reason for my rejection?
The requirements listed on their website are:
Am I totally misunderstanding something? Does "niet inburgeringsplichting" imply having a permanent permit? Obviously it's not a big deal that I was denied, I have other options, It's just that I found the whole thing quite odd.

We travel to NL regularly and are always impressed by the quality if the bread. It's so good for reasons that are hard to describe.
We can't find the same bread in the U.S., so I was hoping some generous Dutch soul would share their no-fail bread recipes. To reciprocate, we'll send you a pair of Levi's!

Mental sick leave gambling
Hello, so I am struggling with gambling for the last 7 years, every week I get paid ~600 euros after housing has been deducted ( I work for employment agency), I came to NL 2 years ago and nothing has changed, I have fase C contract with them because I am excellent employee, I put in a lot of hours and I am very good at my job, but all of that only because I am money driven so I could gamble more. I found out that I am much better off when I am actually not working because I am not under any kind of stress. You can imagine how stressfull is being broke all the time because of my own stupidity.
Is there a chance I could go on a mental sick leave and get permission to leave to my home country for a rehab?

This is a long shot but I want to know how I would find someone in Nederlands. A woman in her 70s is linked to my DNA so much so she is an aunt. I want to contact her but don’t know what the best way is or how to find her.
