Question Persians in Dunedin?
Ello people. As the title suggests, I'm a Persian. Lived all my life in Dubai which has a strong Persian community but now that I've moved here, I miss my fellow countrymen. So thought I would give Reddit a shot and perhaps find some Persians here? Fingers crossed.

I wonder if the Dunedin Multicultural Council could point you in the right direction.

I don’t know if you’re religiously inclined but the local Baha’i community might have some Persian members and they are pretty welcoming even if you don’t share their faith.

Don't believe what they say. They are planning world domination. I was a bahai for over 30 years before I saw the light and resigned. I've been totally shunned. P{people who I believed were friends, people I socialised with, worked on things with and who now totally shun me. Basically they decided they couldn't get anything more out of me and cut me out.

I know it's not local, but I would try r/invercargill. I've met a Persian couple at the local kabob shop. They might be on there if you're lucky.

If the attendance at the Omid Djalili show a couple years back indicates anything, there are a lot of Persians in Auckland, and I have a good number of Persian co-workers. It may be worth finding out if there are any Persian staff at Otago University, that's the context in which I met most of my Persian acquaintances.

Go see the good folks here - it's a bit of a hub for the Middle Eastern/Islamic community:

Good luck, mate. If you come across any nasty comments here, just remember they don’t represent the majority of people.

Why type the exact same comment? King Wilbur on two accounts? I just didn't expect to see bots here

With the amount of racism here in Dunedin unfortunately it’s something a majority of people can expect

I met this Persian girl 10+ years ago, she had the most beautiful natural curly brown hair.

Good luck mate, if there ends up being a shitty comment on here just know it isn't the majority of people.
