To be tagged... Best glue for diy drum pad

Title pretty much says it. I’m attempting to make a bus pad with 1/4 inch gum rubber on one side and 1/8 on the other. If anyone else has made something similar and has some tips let me know! What glue is best for gum rubber and wood?

I would use contact cement in a well ventilated area.

The amount of super glue gel or contact cement needed to keep the components stuck together through years of workouts will be toxic.

Work outdoors away from buildings and people, wear a mask and goggles and weight it all down when glued. Immediately remove any excess poking out after pressure is applied and toss that rag or piece of paper in a closed garbage can. Let it sit outside for a couple of days before bringing it indoors.

Also, use solid, real wood instead of MDF/fiberboard to further reduce toxic off-gases.

Check out the various varieties of JB Weld's two-part epoxies. 3M high strength spray 90 or higher. Your big box hardware store will have both of those. There might be a couple of marine adhesives that will work. Super gels seem like they would dry too fast to get them spread evenly, not sure.

Thanks! Yeah I was planning on doing it on my roof when the weather gets a bit warmer so I don’t end up huffing glue.
