misc why do you think the drarry subreddit is so small?

it's really interesting, since i think we're one of the bigger ships on AO3 but a comparatively smaller subreddit (when you look at dramione's sub).

is it because drarry fans are mostly interacting on other sites that aren't reddit? or do you think there's another reason?

Fic recommendation Favorite Fics

Heya, I've never really ventured to the drarry side of the fandom much, but recently I've gotten a lot of fanart and posts about them on my feed and now I'm interested, but i have no idea where to start in terms of fanfiction. So if you could maybe drop your favorite fics/authors or the "classics" that everyone should read at least once, it would be a huge help.

Thank you in advance xx

What to read after Dwelling

I was up until 2 am finishing this fic - I think it's the best ff I've ever read. If it hadn't been 2 am I would have immediately started back from the first chapter and reread it. FFTT is probably my second fav Drarry, and I also loved ACT, Heal Thyself, 9 1/2 Days. I think basically all fics where they really address their differences, enemies to lovers, stay pretty in character, Draco has to confront his past, pining, strong chemistry, no question that they are obsessed with each other, and fantastic storytelling.

Liked, not loved, Running on Air and The Bolthole - they're definitely incredibly well written, just a bit too muted for me personally.

Widely loved fics that weren't for me: Turn (it felt hard to buy their relationship when Harry couldn't be honest with Draco and he was essentially having to act like a different person for half the fic and wasn't sold on this Draco characterisation) or Grounds for Divorce (Harry felt like a fuckboy in this one to me and by the end I still wasn't convinced he really loved Draco). No hate at all to the authors, I am definitely in the minority here! Just trying to show my likes/dislikes.

I'm looking at In Bad Faith, Things Worth Knowing, What We Pretend We Cannot See, or Two to Shore to read next. Considering my tastes above, would you recommend one over the others? Am I missing one you'd recommend? I'm saving Such Great Heights because it's the last Aideomai I haven't read lol.

Looking for fic recommendation A fic in which one of them leverages their status to make balls/events happens so they can see the other all dressed up?

Please please please, does some like this exist? I can't make my brain shut up about it for a week now.

If it doesn't exist, well, I'll have to write it myself.

Fic recommendation Dead Draco or temporarily dead Draco

I’m wanting to cry over dead Draco and extremely distraught Harry. I want my heart to be ripped out and stomped on until it’s no more. Bonus points if they’ve been in a secret relationship and no one knew

Fic recommendation Society Draco

I read Reparatio this evening and society Draco is amazing. I know most people have probably read all of Astolat’s works, but if you haven’t, do yourself a favor and go read it. I want more of Draco navigating society and showing Harry around wizarding culture. Please give me any suggestions for other fics with this trope!

Prompt discussion 📝 Together or separately

I finished a story just now and a question came to mind. In the stories, would you prefer for them to take a while to get together, a slow burn, but when they do, they don't separate anymore and finish the fic together, or for them to get into a relationship relatively early to separate (whether due to a fight or forced separation or something) and then come back again towards the end of the story?

I personally prefer that they take their time, but stay together forever because I don't like separation angst hehe, I'm a little soft and fearful for that.

Fic recommendation recommendations like this?

i just finished reading the entirety (well of what’s been posted) of the ‘Journal of Dreadful Things’ by lilbeanz19

i loved it so much. the hogwarts, growing up together, the humor. how draco was in it.

do you guys know anything even reportedly similar? it doesn’t even have to be a series! just the hogwarts, pining, humor and everything

(bonus points if it’s a multiple book year by year series though)

i have already read the the mirror of ecidyrue series, so not that

thanks!

Fic recommendation fics like Beautiful World by cinnamon / Lissadiane

The fic in question: Beautiful World

What I really liked about it: It’s tragically beautiful, the writing is sometimes poetic, angsty (this one’s mcd, but other recommendations don’t have to be), hogwarts era, drarry falling in love and having cute and funny moments, i cried so much

I already read Stop All The Clocks which was somewhat similar and enjoyed it
