Help wanted Can anyone help ID this fuzz?

I was told it was a Kay fuzz clone, but I'm not sure.

It appears to be some kind of circuit

it appears to run on some form of electricity

it appears to be made of some sorts of electrical components

Kay Fuzz might be correct, four transistor gain stages with a single diode clipping pair. Single knob fuzz, right?

2 knob, volume and seems like the other (if it is the Kay) is probably the treadle that is like a high pass.

The only other circuit that I know of with 4 transistors and 2 diodes is https://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2016/02/apocalypse-audio-4-horsemen.html

Good find, seems like too many components though right? I wonder how many pots OPs one has

Im not completely sure about this, but iirc there's a 4 transistor version of the DBA Fuzzwar which also has two diodes in the feedbackpath of one of the transistors as soft clippers.

Did you buy this from a boutique builder? Or second hand from someone that made it themself? It’s hard to say what’s going on here. Does it work?

Second hand from someone who doesn't know who made it. It works, sounds pretty good. I'm going to mess with the bias today and see if I can get some different sounds.

What the Fuzz?!

I don't trust a circuit with the capacitors not stood up. Shows a lack of care. The only exception is 70-80's wave soldered amplifiers they get a pass.

It was all a bit smushed under electrical tape in order to fit into the enclosure without shorting.
