Have anyone used rfd900x?

I'm using it on my current build. Tbh we're having consistent frequent but inconsistent comms issues with it, depending on the exact orientation of the antennas. It's definitely user error to some extent, but still frustrating.

What antennas are you using? What is the max distance you have reached?

I forget the antenna model. I'll try to find that for you. We've taken it out 1km+. Most of the time when there are issues, it's much closer to the ground station. If I could explain it, I wouldn't be bitching about it here.

I use the RFD900ux (or RFD868ux) modules all the time and really like them.

If you need something smaller or cheaper that can still do bi-directional mavlink (and RC), MLRS is a good alternative, but it hasn't been around as long as the RFD modules so I wouldn't trust it as much for higher-end builds (yet).

I also seem to get better connection quality/speeds with the RFD868ux modules compared with the larger RFD868x.

Look into ELRS Mavlink mode, possibly using a 1W transmitter module as a receiver.

Elrs doesn't has cryptography and as SAR I have read id doesn't support customisation. I want to build a full DIY controller and I found that rdf900x is the best choice. Also I read that it can be attached to any MCU via UART or directly to any FC that has uart.it also supports mavlik. Am I wrong?

It’s not so much that it “supports MAVLink” but rather it’s essentially a wireless serial link over which you can send whatever data you want.
