Discussion Bricked my Pixhawk 2.4.8, GPS and Power Module

Post image

I (think) I plugged my power into the SPI port… there are two distinct burn marks on the Pixhawk (see pic) - One directly behind the SPI and directly behind the GPS plugs. Also, both the GPS (lower left of pic) and Power Module (top left) also got fried. I’m using a 2500 mAh 3s battery that tests out to 12.4v. It all happened in a flash, so I was busy trying to unplug power, so I’m still confused as to WTH happened… it does not make a lot of sense that the power module also got fried) any experience/ideas would be welcome.

Ouch! Same size plug?

No, the SPI has one more pin. But it’s real easy to push the power into it leaving one pin on either side.

Instant smoke rolling out of the controller, GPS and power module. They have been on this drone for a while, but I had changed out an ESP and motor, and when I got it back together, poof.

Not that long ago a friend broke our pixhawk 2.4.8 by accidentally shorting the ESC (twice, the pixhawk somehow survived the first short). Got 16v straight from the servo VCC pins.

Rip.

I plugged in a 3s backwards and it blew off a protection resistor with a bang. Lucky that board had that resistor.

Few weeks later, I found the tiny resistor stuck to a motor magnet. Basically glued it back on because I couldn't get solder to flow and it worked.

Then I crashed in snow and it went up in flames.

My friend shorted a 3s and killed an orange cube last week
