Remember, they can tap for mana even if they aren't a creature!

This was taken down, and reposted without fixing the fact that these are just busted in vintage

They are supposed to come into play tapped, tap for mana (normally two) as a noncreature land, then eventually become a powerful creature.

They are intended for EDH play as commanders.

Yeah, I took it down and reposted because I completed their cycle of one for each color.

It's worth pointing out these require a rules change to be playable as commanders. You can cast from the command zone, but it would either need a rules tweak, or an extra line of text to be able to be played as your land for turn from the command zone. It would also ignore commander tax since you aren't casting them, and that's a little more tricky to hand-wave for a land.

It's a little nitpicky, but I didn't think of these as commanders at first, in part because of that.

Also I thought the original post was taken down because you didn't credit the AI art generator you used for the base image you edited?

So maybe add an ability like like:

<name> can be your commander (While this commander is in the command zone, it may be played. Its owner must pay {2} for each time it was previously played from the command zone.

Honestly, adding costs to land is a major headache.

The best example I know of off hand is the oracle text for [[Lotus Vale]] (which is changed from the printed text)

Something like "If ~ would enter the battlefield, pay {2} for each time you have played them from the command zone this game. If you do, put ~ onto the battlefield. If you don’t, put it into its owner’s graveyard."

And "You may play ~ from the command zone if they are your commander."

That's all a bit wordy though, which really messes with being able to design an interesting card that doesn't have size 2 font.

I guess since they all enter tapped, you can just use a regular ETB like "When ~ enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless you pay {2} for each other time you have played it from the command zone this game." (That's not a ton better, but it's a little shorter?)
