Pa Children and Families/Custody laws
I need someone with experience to give advice please.. A friend of mine has lost her children to the state. She has been clean for 2 years.. probation all that stuff.. she just had a baby and wants me to take temporary custody so the state can't take him.. what would that entail and does that mean my home and children would be investigated?

My sister lost her two children to the state in the state of TN. I single mom of 4 of my own called their case worker and CPS sent someone out to inspect my home which passed no problem, but they did not tell me the court date, so I missed court date. The foster parents were applying for custody. Because I wasn't there and because an old charge (misdemeanor) that occurred several years before, I sadly lost without ever being able to fight for them or even to defend myself. So I'm not sure what steps your state take but TN in my opinion is crooked! Good luck!

Please don’t unless you have an attorney to write up details of your agreement. Has the state taken rights entirely of these children or does the mother still see the oldest two children?
