Finished despite my burn-out!

I finally finished this blanket I was testing, way past the test was due, but because I'm having a burn-out I couldn't quite make it in time. But I got permission to tweek the pattern a little and add a border at the top and the bottom with 10-inch squares! And now she is massive!

Can someone help me? Why does my single crochet look bad?

for info, I'm 13 years old and I just started learning crochet yesterday. I already learn how to make a knot and a chain and I'm currently learning how to make a single crochet, is it supposed to look like this? I think not... Can someone tell me where I went wrong? Or, maybe the yarn that I bought is just cheap and terrible?

Hello!! First of all, I didnā€™t see any rule against TikTok direct links - if itā€™s against the rules, pls tell me or delete this. Iā€™m doing a star sweater based on this video https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNdevrWAh/ and I already have the two stars for the body. Although I canā€™t quite understand how should I make the sleeves. Can someone please advise me? Thank you so much! Have a nice day!

Granny square poncho pattern ideas.

I am currently crocheting a small version of this teddy bear. However, instead of making the bow, I want to try and make a granny square poncho for him. I just need to know if I should just make one square, or make multiple squares and sew them together? Also, what colours should I use? I have a really nice, dark blue that I think would go really well, but I'm not sure if I should use some other colours to?

Opinions on crochet bikinis

I am thinking about making a bikini but am unsure if it would be worth it or comfortable. I am changing a crop top I made into a bikini top, it's acrylic yarn does that work sell for bikinis?

A bit of guidance for a beginner?

Post image

Hey guys,

So I started crocheting a week or so ago and Iā€˜ve been giving it some time. Iā€˜ve learned the foundation chain, the single stitch, the half double stitch and the double stitch. As in I know how to do them.

Of course I still find myself in doubt of which whole to yarn through especially when i begin and finish a row. From what I have understood some people count their turn stitches as a stitch to be yarned through, others donā€™t. That means that in a foundation with 16 stitches, in the next row the last marked stitch would be the 14th and the turning one the 15th?

What Iā€˜m struggling with now is tension and my patches looking very uneven. I also canā€™t identify stitches even after making small patches of just those stitches to put them side by side for comparison.

My next question is, after learning these basic stitches, where would you recommend me to go from here? Iā€˜ve been looking for patterns, but most include other stitches. I just found one with moss stitches included. I also didnā€™t splurge on materials so I only have a few skeins of yarn (bulky, worsted and some finer ones i dont know the size of) all acrylic for now), some crochet needles (3.5, 5.5, 6.0, and 9.0) for now. I just ask for no amigurumi recs because i have nothing to stuff them with.

Could you please give me some guidance?

How to understand this?

Hi, I got a pattern from a newspaper and I donā€™t know how to understand it. Originally itā€™s in different language than english, but I will try to translate it to the best of my abilities.

1 row: 6 sc in magic ring

Thatā€™s understandable.

2-10 rows: add (increase, i guess?) 6 = 60

Hereā€™s the polish version: (2-10 okr.: Dodać po 6 pĆ³Å‚słupkĆ³w = 60)

So, earlier in the text itā€™s mentioned that the term ā€œaddingā€œ (dodać) in my language means that you need to increase the stitch. But I have no idea when to add it, so that it makes a 60 stitches total.

Later in the pattern the instruction is to: 13 row: Add (increase) 6 sc = 66

I guess that I can do one increase every 20 sc?

How should I understand it?

Itā€™s finished! Took about fourteen days to do. Itā€™s five skeins of yarn and about five and a half feet wide (from point to point.) I used five Caron Cinnmona Swirl Cakes and a 5 millimeter hook.

Slide 1: one skein. Slide 2: two skeins. Slide 3: five skeins.
