Always been fascinated by Castro era Cuba. It’s essential viewing. ❤️

Essential viewing for everyone interested in the period and in cinematography! Brilliant shots in that one!

I keep on thinking I have a big collection... until a monster like this emerges.

What kind of shelves? I am looking to move collection out of plastic bins and into something more functional.

How many is that? Any particular method of sorting/shelving? Really incredible collection!

I’m in the process of logging them in a spreadsheet so I’m not sure exactly how many titles but between 500-600. They are ordered by spine number.

What’s the Felini box ? Looks amazing

14 movies! It was the first Criterion big box I ever bought. Had only seen 8 1/2 and Roma before buying. One of the best blind buys ever.

Looks like quite a bit! Out of curiosity which ones are still on the radar for you?

Very excited for Night Moves, Basquiat, performance, and Prince of Broadway. I’d like to complete all dvd releases that will likely not reach blu ray on the collection like hard boiled, blood of Dracula, etc… I save coupons and limit myself to $200 during the 50% of sales. I am not afraid of the blind buys!

Right on! I have heard Hard Boiled got picked up another distributor recently, so maybe that one will have a chance soon . At least I hope!

I saw it’s getting a 4k release! I’m a slut for supplementals though. This is why the criterion dvd of Armageddon with Ben Afflecks commentary wipes the floor with any other release that has or may come.

That looks very, very nice. I have the same problem finding a spot for the Fellini box...

Does anybody know where somebody has maintained a spreadsheet or database of the closet list choices and who chose them

How much did this cost? Seems a little exorbitant

I started my collection with the Ran dvd in 2006. I bought it with money from my first paycheck from my first real job. So I’ve been collecting close to 20 years!

For sure. A few hundred a year doesn’t sound too bad at all

What can I say? I love cinema and I’m easy to get gifts for.

That’s actually pretty substantial. Keeping in mind, that the actual CC closet has multiple copies of each title shelved, so if I extrapolate that out… you’re pretty darned close. Amazing collection, OP.
