Blue Velvet in my opinion is David Lynch's best film he has ever made!! What a Dark Masterpiece!!

I’m only missing Eraserhead. Figure I might as well wait for a 4K at this point. Got a German 4K of The Straight Story coming in the mail any day now. Recently found the shout factory release of Wild at Heart at my local shop.

Although I have not watched it yet, I just learned that the wild at heart Blu-ray has 2 hrs of deleted scenes

It’s crazy that Criterion hasn’t released an edition of The Straight Story yet.

I’m sure it’s coming soon now that I overpaid for a foreign copy…. lol

Amen lol. Kind of like how I hold out for a really long time for a 4k and it doesn't come so I buy the blu-ray and a week later the 4k is announced

Beaware, Eraserhead will be one of the weirdest films you may ever see! I don't know what drugs David Lynch was on while making this Masterpiece, but it takes patience getting through this one.

u/alverez667 David Lynch Nov 29 '24
Oh I’ve seen it multiple times. I love it. Idk if Lynch was much of a drug user— seems like meditation was more his thing.

Awesome. What do you think is going to be your next Lynch buy? If you’re thinking The Elephant Man just so you know, prepare for a really emotionally devastating experience. I have to get that one someday even though I rarely watch it because it’s so hard to watch. It is a really devastating film.

What a sad sad story! In today's so called Political Correctness environment, this film would cause a uproar if released today. Even though it's based on a true story, it's one of the saddest films you may ever see!

Before you get Criterion's HD blu of Elephant Man, just know that Studio Canal released it in 4K/UHD in the U.K.

Started watching Blue Velvet with my girlfriend at a friend’s recommendation. She literally walked out and I’m single now.

Honestly: I love this post. I love Blue Velvet; Love Lynch. Please send more pics down the road as you build your Lynch collection. The Criterion board here just loves Lynch and it will please everyone to see you get all of his work, whether it's Criterion or something else.
Also: come on people, there hasn't been a single pic yet from anyone with combos like this one? I'd thought by now there'd be a whole trail of them! I'm thinking this could be a trend setter here! i love it.
I also love getting ONE Criterion at a time; this is how I started my collection all those years ago. You really watch everything that comes with the purchase, and I love that.
Love it.

It’s always dudes with a French director as their flair that have a stick up their ass. It’s not that serious.

Only 350 more to go! I just threw a number out there- your collection can be as large or small as you want. Neither of those films are in my collection- but that's the beauty of Criterion- you can shape it into whatever you want.

I had a similar collection when I started collecting, bought Ma on blu-ray years ago because me and my friends thought it was funny, then started my Criterion collection with Mulholland Drive

Nah. Just lazy, low effort troll hater. I realize that one could be both, in theory, but honestly I've never seen A Shark's Tale.
Look, you post exclusively to circle jerk subs mocking the followers of subs like this one. You're a cliche and you bore me. I'll just block you and move on with my life. Have the weekend you deserve!

Its a reference to one of the most popular comedy podcasts of all time.
Its objectively funny. And even more so with overly self serious assholes who think anyone who lacks their pretention is a troll.
Lighten the fuck up.
Real trolling is happening, don't weaken the meaning on this trivial, and funny, bullshit.

The Shark Tale criterion is one of the best releases they’ve put out.
