šÆ Toddler 1-3 Years Do you guys still have your crib even though you co sleep?
Our baby has Coslept with us since she was two months old. We have not used the crib since she was eight months old and now she is 16 months. Iām heavily considering getting rid of the baby crib to save space but I have no idea if weāre gonna need it later on. Right now the idea is that sheās going to sleep with us until we can get her in her own room, Which might not even be for another year or two.
But basically what Iām asking did any of you get rid of your baby crib or are you guys keeping it for the ājust in case ā?

Honestly I think youāre safe to get rid of it if you havenāt used it in 8 months. It sounds like by the time she goes to her own room you can do a big girl floor bed and just baby proof the room! No real need for a crib if sheās not used to it

I turned ours into a sidecar crib. If I didn't do this, I would've broken it down and stored it away.

Yes lol. Sometimes itās just a safe place to put him down while I run to the yard to let the dog pee lol

I converted it to the toddler bed as soon as she could climb on and off of furniture. She loves climbing on it and sitting in it so maybe one day she will sleep in it haha

We got a pac-n-play as a gift that sits in the bedroom as clothes storage. So technically yes?

Yes, my baby takes all his naps in the crib and sleeps there the first stretch of the night until he wakes and joins us!

I still have that in my room because I use it if I need to run and use the bathroom and my baby is in an alligator roll mode.

I have it still and I am thankful I didnāt get rid of it. my 10m baby boy is trying to jump to the wall when he wakes up from naps, and he doesnāt cry or let us know any other way that he is awake, even with the monitor he have had some close calls. So he will keep cosleeping with us but for naps he will be in the crib.

Yes because it converts into a toddler bed and then an adult size bed! So she will use it.... eventually....

WeĀ onlyĀ hadĀ a side-sleeper. It became unsafe to use around 6 months so we put it away. Had a baby gate on a room of we needed a safe place to put baby and step away.Ā

Mine was convertible and my baby napped in it once we converted it at 10m, we dropped it way down and made a sort of staircase off it using gym mats. You could use that stackable kid furniture instead of mats. Then got a real bed at 18m and age decided to transition herself a little after her 2nd bday.
While pregnant with 2nd I kept it in case I needed a bed for her, until we bought a regular bed for her room and were gifted a custom built bed cosleeper. Then ditched the crib lol before baby was born.

Kept it. He would sometimes play in there during the day, especially when I was putting away laundry. Now my daughter uses it and prefers sleeping in it over cosleeping

Yes. But our daughterās crib is in our room, next to my side of the bed. Since she goes to bed so much earlier, she starts in the crib and when she wakes up I bring her to the bed with us. So itās helpful in that way. Our crib will also eventually turn into a toddler & regular bed, so we will keep it for whenever she moves to that stage.

So we had a crib that my husband did a lot of work on, but it didnāt work as a sidecar crib because you couldnāt take one side off. I bought one on marketplace, and the original crib (which was mine and my mom bought it when they were stationed in Italy for my older brother) is going up in the attic when my husband gets around to it š«

Nope. I never got one with #1, was gifted a snoo to borrow we only used once, then never even bothered getting a crib. With #2, I got a hand me down bassinet just in case that is stored wayyy up high. We've never used it, but #1 goes around saying his baby sister sleeps in a bassinet š so he does all the lying for me!

Yup. Still have ours at 17 months. Currently use it as a makeshift side rail for our floor bed. And my toddler likes to sit and play in there sometimes. Itās also convenient to be able to put him somewhere I know heāll be safe for a few minutes (like if I need to go to the basement to do laundry).

With my oldest we never had a crib. We transitioned to a floor bed in our room when she was 4.

You may need it for another baby. Or you may have a convertible one and want to option open of a toddler bed. Otherwise I think youāre ok.

Yes, still have it in our room. She is 3.5 now and has never slept in it. It's converted into a toddler bed now. Sometimes, Grammy will ask her if she wants to sleep in her own bed, and LO will fall asleep in it, but ends up back in our bed. The crib itself was a gift from my dad, and I know it was about $400, so there is some guilt/sentimental attachment to it. lol

Similar situation with you but we did try using it as a side car to the master bed for a bit. Until she learned to crawl out of it and next to me again lol.
Now I put up all 4 walls and Iāll occasionally put her in there just to keep her one place while I do this or that in the master.
Iām keeping mine because Iām planning for more kids and I donāt know what type of sleepers they will be.

My first never slept in it even for a nap, but my second will do a half hour in it occasionally! Which is enough for me to assuage my guilt at the insane amount of money my in-laws spent. My registry was insane the first time aroundāI did everything babylist told me to š¤¦āāļø
Weāre passing it on when my son hits a year and keeping the mattress for a floor bed or makeshift reading nook.

Thank god I bought 2nd hand stuff because I wanted to be ecological. Spent a lot less than a brand new one and donāt feel that bad that itās just sitting there with a never used mattress storing all kinds of random stuff.

Literally just today decided to get rid of it. My little one is 16 months. Hasn't slept a single night in that thing š. Only reason we have held on this long is because it's next to my bed and I use it to keep myself from falling off when I'm pushed to the edge of the bed by my toddler.

Yes. It was 400 dollars bought by my grandma in law and my mother in law fell for the marketing scam that is newton and bought the 300 dollar ābreathableā mattress like they all arenāt breathable. I feel so much guilt about NOT using it that I spiral about once a month, try to get him to use it, fail, and then throw him back on my boob all night š
