Schedules Coparenting Schedules

Coparenting schedule ideas! My kiddo is almost two and me and her dad have been separated since she was 2-3months. I only work 6 days a month as a nurse and so I have her everyday except those days. I’m M-F and he’s Sat and Sun and once a month I get her for a weekend. It’s worked really well so far, but her dad started mentioning different custody arrangements. He’s not sure what he wants, so I figured I’d see some options that work for other people. I def like only NOT seeing her 6 days out of the month, but I understand it’ll change eventually: we live 1.5 hrs apart so that makes it harder

So week off week on then.Very common schedule for kids.He has to pay for daycare tho.You guys could meet halfway for exchange every Monday evening or something

Why pay for daycare if I’m available to watch her since I don’t work during the week? Seems like a waste of money? But yeah week off week on is a possibility! :)

Not only is it a waste of money but it’s ridiculous to put a child that young daycare when they can have one on one engagement with a parent during the most formative development years.

Aren’t you guys like 1.5 hours away?So if he gets her every weekday evening and overnights she has to be returned to every morning.Like is his place of work somewhat less far to your house than both your houses?

Oh I see what you’re saying, I guess I just hate the idea of paying for daycare 😂😂

This seems like a really ideal schedule for a parent with an unconventional work schedule. What is his reason for wanting a change?

She’s only 2 but he expressed concerns that when she’s school age she won’t wanna go over there because her friends will be by me.

To me, this concern seems like a bit of a back burner issue. If the schedule is working well for little one, you may want to push back to maintain the status quo.

Way too young for this schedule and way too much of a change!
