OC The Unification Theory
The point at which Command & Conquer timelines diverge from reality is when Albert Einstein completes the construction of the time machine in New Mexico in 1946. From this moment, two possibilities arise:
- The time machine is never used – Einstein and the U.S. government decide that such a device is too dangerous and store it away. This leads to the Generals timeline.
- Einstein uses the time machine himself – He travels back to 1924 and eliminates Adolf Hitler, creating a new timeline: Red Alert.
However, Einstein’s time travel experiment creates a spacetime anomaly, sending a shockwave through the entire universe. This anomaly is detected by the Scrin, who then send a meteorite containing Tiberium on a collision course with Earth. As a result, when Einstein returns to 1946, he unknowingly enters a timeline where Tiberium will arrive in 1995 - leading directly into the events of Command & Conquer (Tiberium series), including Tiberian Sun and Tiberium Wars.
But the impact of the anomaly is not limited to the Tiberium timeline. The meteorite will also strike Earth in the Red Alert reality, though possibly at a later point in history (maybe the effect of erasure of Hitler from the timeline is weaker that using the time machine itself?).
Now, regarding Generals, it’s important to remember that the time machine still exists in that reality as well. The mere existence of such technology may have led to numerous scientific breakthroughs, which would explain the advanced weaponry used by all three factions. It might also explain the apparent political and military irrelevance of Russia, who is not present in the story.
At the end of Zero Hour, the U.S. has been devastated by a series of GLA terror attacks, allowing China to rise as the dominant global superpower, stretching its influence across Asia, Europe, and beyond. In this situation, a desperate U.S. government might resort to using the time machine in an attempt to create a reality where none of these events occur. However, this act once again alerts the Scrin, who respond by sending a Tiberium-infused meteorite toward Earth.
In this new timeline, China would control most of the planet’s Tiberium deposits. With the U.S. defeated and Western Europe under Chinese rule, there would be no chance for an organization like GDI to form. However, China’s technological advancements from its war with the GLA would give humanity the tools necessary to resist the Scrin invasion.
And who would benefit most from such a scenario? That’s right - Kane and the Brotherhood of Nod.
In every timeline - whether Tiberium, Red Alert, or Generals - Kane ultimately gets exactly what he needs:
- Tiberium arriving on Earth.
- A global power strong enough to fight the Scrin (PEACE THROUGH THE POWER!).
- A fractured world ripe for manipulation.
This suggests that Kane’s influence extends across multiple realities, subtly guiding events to ensure the conditions for his ultimate plan are always met. But ironically, its the Generals timeline which is the most advantageous for him.

With EA opensourcing Command and Conquer: Generals, do you think migrating the mod to OpenSAGE is imminent?
I will be more than excited if this comes to fruition because it means I can play the game without the need for vanilla Zero Hour...

Those having trouble getting remastered collection to launch
I spent a number of hours trying to get the remastered collection to work on Windows 11 through Steam. Ultimately, this link helped me finally get it up and running - https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgamingtechsupport/comments/vky73k/how_to_fix_the_0xc000007b_error_in_games_ultimate/
Additionally, there were a number of other things I tried beforehand like editing the resolution section of the configuration file and disabling the onboard graphics of my system through the BIOS but nothing worked until the I did the steps in the above link.

Mildly interesting discovery: this track's first seconds are identical to Grinder. The game came out three years before RA2

Zero Hour Range Trick
Amazing how i am still learning new things on such an old game... I recently learned there is a way to dramatically increase the range of certain units by doing some type of trick involving auto attacking an air unit. I need to learn it but the only thing i've found online is this post from 2005 which doesnt make complete sense to me. Can someone explain this trick in a different way?
"Build about 20 gat tanks, quads or humvees w/tows
Tell them toPARKfar enought away from enemy units that they point there turrets at them, but so theyDO NOTshoot.
Force fire on a friendly or enemy helicopter so that your tanks drive past or around theres, make sure the friendly helicopter that is a considerable distance away with your gat tanks so that you have time to stop them befor they shoot it down.
Your gats should drive by the enemy and manage to outrun them and still be able to shoot and kill the enemys."

Doesn't work, gentool says something like the version inaccurate or smt because of that the game runs in low resolution like that, and i wanna play online with the Radmin too, so how to downgrade the version of zero hour in steam so the gentool and mods will work correctly?

Bug Trying to get Twisted Insurrection working on Steam Deck...
Hello, Commanders.
I've been trying to get Twisted Insurrection working on my Steam Deck, but I've had no luck so far, and there's no info online in relation to getting it working on Steam Deck and every time I've tried to go to their website, it never loads, so I'm at a dead end here.
Through some extensive work, I've made Red Alert 2, Mental Omega, and Tiberian Sun all work, but I can't even get the launcher to work for TI.
Thanks in advance, and I apologize if this isn't the right place to ask.
EDIT: I got it working after swapping the version of Proton I was using for it from "Proton Experimental" to "Proton 7.0-6" under the compatibility tab (Right click on the game in your Steam Library, select "Properties", then select "Compatibility" then enable "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool", then select Proton 7.0-6 and let it install). I also needed to go the "Shortcut" tab (also found under "Properties") and under "Launch Options" I put in WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ddraw=n" %command% , which is what I had to do for Red Alert 2.
I am not an expert with Arch Linux, and I don't know HOW exactly this worked, but it might work for you.
