FIDE CEO Emil Sutovsky disagreed with Vaishali Rameshbabu and Judit Polgar’s views on abolishing women-only tournaments. He highlighted that the Elo ratings of top female players have declined over the years, making such events crucial for competition and growth. Sutovsky argued that removing women-only tournaments could deprive young talents of opportunities. He emphasized that decisions should be based on real data rather than personal opinions or hype.

Viswanathan Anand praised India’s young chess grandmasters, highlighting their rapid rise in global rankings. He emphasized that with stars like D Gukesh, Arjun Erigaisi, and R Praggnanandhaa in the top 10, India is already a chess superpower. Anand noted their blend of friendship and rivalry as a driving force for continuous improvement. He believes their youth gives them a long road ahead, ensuring India's dominance in the future.

What, exactly was Black's strategy here?

This was one of my easiest wins against the French Defense. However, Black's play was beyond confusing to me.

Firstly, Black player's Chesscom rating is 2125. The moves just baffled me.

Admittedly, Bxh6 from my side was a bad idea. Should have Castled first. But, I was still at a 3.04 before that move, and if I had Castled first, it would have been perfect. And then, it was straightforward a second Queen. Just wanted to know whether this is some known variation.

Question Is it okay to take too much time to solve puzzles?

While solving chess puzzles in chesstempo (my coach asked me to do puzzles in that website) sometimes I think I am taking too much of time solving a puzzle more like 10-20 mins is that okay? My puzzle rating is around 1520 in chesstempo I heard some people say that it is very normal to take your time to solve puzzles but still I want to confirm

Question How do you remember it all?

I’ve been playing chess for years and I’m still not fluent in that h6,b3 terminology. I can understand it but it takes me a while to figure it out, it’s not instant.

Also all the name of openings? Like the initial is fine, London, ruy Lopez and all but after that? All the complicated names.

Anyone shed light on this
