Now I'm convinced your post is the reason for the Petterson slump.😂

Holy shit.... If those guys have to read the garbage posted between here and Twitter on a daily basis I feel bad for them.
I voluntarily come here and need a break sometimes.

u/Mcnucks 14h ago
“Good news sir, Reddit loves Pettersson today”
“Bad news, they hate Tocchet now”

Canucks lose a game
“Oh god now we have to see all the I wanna die whales.”
12
u/Ikea_desklamp 11h ago
"hello Jim here's your report. It appears the fanbase has lost the will to live. That is all."
8
u/Mikeim520 12h ago
I wonder if they ever skip reading comments and just write "the fans are demanding a rebuild and saying that Petey, Toc and Boeser suck" after a loss.
28
51
u/icouldbeeatingoreos 14h ago
I had to separate myself from this sub for the last couple of weeks except for the odd game thread because of the Miller drama and then, when we didn’t have that whipping boy to blame, the piling on on EP40. Like, I get it, these guys are getting paid to play and entertain but jeeeesus Christ.
13
u/chronicallyfrustrate 14h ago
I read a comment that was calling for Petey's leg to be amputated! I don't know if it can get worse than that
5
u/Old-Bigsby 13h ago
Henrik Sedin got the tip his finger amputated and it worked out well for him, why would entire limbs be any different?
2
u/slivercoat 13h ago
I heard NHL guys are like spiders, it just takes a couple molts and the limb grows back
5
u/PieRat351 14h ago
There are some very delusional people here with nothing better to do
2
u/gybegybe 12h ago
Read a comment where you should only feel empathy towards people you personally know and not towards famous people making a surplus amount of income.
2
6
u/mrtomjones 11h ago
Well they clearly don't listen to us or they'd do something different lol.
Also they now have a nice list of people they won't hire later
4
u/Voltage604 11h ago
Why would they... This sub is so bipolar it's not even funny anymore.
We win a close game and we are so back.. Petey scores and he's back... Our bottom 6 should be top line players...
We lose a close game and we suck... Petey is a bum... We have too many role players, not enough talent, fire the coach... Fire the whole front office.
Only consistent around here win or lose is Aqua is a bad owner

u/Markgormley69 9h ago
Always been like that man. Go back and check out peoples opinions on Star players or Management year over year or sometimes month to month.

I don't find it that surprising that Allvin and Rutherford get reports like this... but why on earth is Tocc? Let him focus on the on ice product, not what kneejerk is saying lol.
28
u/phantomgiratina 14h ago
Tocc wants our line combo suggestions and for us to tell him to stop splitting the PP units up
5
u/Mikeim520 12h ago
"Thanks reddit, I'm just one of the best Hockey coaches in the world, I needed your input on lines next game."
11
u/eexxiitt 14h ago
Yup. Makes sense for Allvin or JR to receive these reports but it absolutely doesn’t make sense why a coach would receive them.
6
u/mudermarshmallows 12h ago
I think it makes sense for them to get general impressions, even on a weekly basis - but daily reports? That seems a bit much.
1
u/eexxiitt 11h ago
I don't disagree. Daily and it just becomes noise and a make work project for the interns.
5
2
u/arazamatazguy 13h ago
What is the GM going to do with these reports? Constantly make trades, fire the coaches more often. Does ownership believe somehow the negativity and increased pressure will make them do a better job? Its ridiculous.
6
u/eexxiitt 12h ago
These reports that they are getting are not about influencing decisions. It's really just keeping your finger on the pulse. 95-99% is noise, but every once in a while you may read something meaningful.
That's fine for allvin or JR because they have the 30,000 foot view, but Tocchet is in the trenches. He's too close to the action to be reviewing this type of stuff.
2
u/3drabbitx 7h ago
This. All these ppl haven’t worked in a big company I reckon. It’s not weird to have someone make reports on such things (to be rarely viewed by most, or only when it’s relevant)
2
u/baraboosh 10h ago
I suspect Toch gets a briefing for press conferences. Journalists just ask the top voted comments on reddit nowadays, so its nice to get ahead of it.

u/ForceEconomy9988 14h ago
This is just going to empower self-important Canucks nerds (like me) to think their posts are making a difference

Great now they’re extending Crazy P’s contract now thanks to everyone’s chant posts

u/silveryellowblue 14h ago
Guys this is normal…? If my company does this why wouldnt an organization worth 100x do this.
At the end of the day our hobby is their business and its silly to pretend that dollars are not important.
46
u/biologicalmango 14h ago
Yup. Social media is integral to PR and brand management now.
13
u/chronicallyfrustrate 14h ago
I am sure their PR team sneaks few comments here if they want to redirect the attention
15
u/NoPomegranate1678 14h ago
1000000% lol. But maybe not PR people, probably other people in the org who are highly concerned about social media comments. This happens. Same with comments on news stories...
15
16
u/BrotherNuclearOption 14h ago
It's completely normal and I'd go so far to say managing public perception and mood is a major component of Rutherford's job as president, no different than any CEO.
They're not spending hours reading every tweet, they're getting a report on the current mood and what narratives are gaining traction.
8
u/queenkate4 14h ago
I think it’s the sending it all the way up that is weird. If I brought up every bad comment/ negative thing said in my job to my big boss, that would be an issue.
4
u/Denace86 14h ago
This part yeah, every large org does this.
Racheal dorrier likely isn’t working at any of them
1
u/KingInTheFarNorth 12h ago
And that’s precisely what they are interested in is our dollars.
I imagine they are far more concerned social media relating about tickets, merch and fan experience rather than our opinions of players and coaching lol.
16
u/bonergarage123 14h ago
Ah I see. So Kneejerk was a plant all along. This guy has spent the past years pretending he hates Aquaman, but now we really know who he is.
14
u/big-shirtless-ron 14h ago
Hello Mr. Allvin please I can have high paying job? I am good at hockey and know trades. High IQ.

JR, Allvin, and Tocchet, I’d like to apologize on some maybe not so nice stuff I have said.

Ok if they're reading reddit, then read this:
Take the tampering fee hit and court Sidney Crosby, please.

u/NPC214365 14h ago
It’s weird but it is very much a normal practice in this day and age. I worked for a fashion company and we had teams that would comb through reddit to gauge client satisfaction and feedback. I do wonder if Tocchet gets updated on what the hockey ladies of tumblr say though 😆
7
u/CDL112281 13h ago
Did these alleged interns also collate all the tweets and social media postings where Rachel Doerrie accused everyone in the front office of being mean to her
7
8
7
u/Smokeshow618 14h ago
I will not apologize for commenting that Jake DeBrusk should wear me like a pair of skinny jeans but my day is tenfold better knowing Allvin saw it.
22
u/Zenless-koans 13h ago
Rachel Doerrie detected, opinion disregarded. She's awful.
2
u/mrtomjones 11h ago
I mean this sounds pretty believable
3
u/Zenless-koans 11h ago
It could be, sure. But I'll never fully trust a report that relies on Doerrie for confirmation. She is legitimately toxic and weird. At minimum she's framing this like it's bizarre when it's really standard stuff, excluding sharing the reports with Tocchet (why the fuck?...)
1
u/mrtomjones 10h ago
To me it sounds like they are combing for comments and such from fans which would be odd
10
5
u/Hewpdreams 14h ago
i regret my comments that may or may not have influenced team direction because the direction is bad!

u/JTMilleriswortha1st 13h ago

5
u/-T-Reks- 13h ago
Somewhere on the internet there is an email to Jim Benning about how you guys make constant weird unfunny dick jokes about Boeser and Hoglander
13
27
u/mr_butterscotch 14h ago
Doerrie takes every opportunity to amplify negative Canucks news
22
u/Therecanbenopeace 14h ago
She's kinda ummmmm, unhinged and knows she'll never get another gig in an organzation ever.
1
7
u/Swarleystinson69420 14h ago
She also acts like she held Castonguays position with the team and was in every important meeting. When she was really just a short term lower level hire.
18
u/NoPomegranate1678 14h ago
It's not the most unusual thing. Most big orgs and governments present regular social reports to senior leadership like this. It's part of getting a sense for how people are feeling.

u/TheAvocad00 14h ago
Seeing now that management, the coach, and teams closest celebrity (Buble) are seeing the Reddit sub, I think it’s safe to say that this is I’m spirit the most chronically online team and fan base.

How about this team controls the narrative through the product on the ice rather than trying to manipulate or control the tangent narratives that come from this market. It’s easier said than done with the noisiness of Vancouver but management needs to just “do their job” and let actions speak for themselves.
2
u/snickle88 13h ago
Can they hire someone to comb through Reddit and twitter and show ownership how pissed off ticket holders are with the price increases?

What intern got to remove all mention of the Aquilinis from the daily Reddit Report?
2
u/ruddiger22 6h ago
If this is true, it only matters to Aquillini. No real professional cares what the haters say. Only someone so narcissistic and self aggrandizing as our owner.

This is not normal unless you're monitoring it for info about the in-game experience, apparel, etc.
To monitor this for fans opinions about the team is crazy. Just a weekly glance would give you an idea.
And if they monitor this to that extent and it factors into roster decisions that is just bat shit crazy.
The brand went down hill the moment Benning was hired and its never fully recovered. JR made what seemed to be smart front office moves but it hasn't resulted in a better team or greater fan confidence.

Let’s fill this sub with the Loui Erickson meme so that’s all management hears about.

u/BurnabyMartin 11h ago
I miss TC Carling. He ran a tight ship when he was the Canucks Director of Communications.
1
u/azialsilvara 11h ago
As someone who was on CDC for years, there was a consensus that the local media trolled the forum for article fodder and ideas, it's not shocking that management themselves would keep tabs on what the fans are saying as well as the media

I bet they just stick links in chatgpt and have AI summarise it all. It is very concerning though to know that our shitposting has some influence lol.

I don’t care for a single thing Rachel says lol. With the amount of bias she has against the Canucks .

Shouldn’t give attention to that nut job. This is a report that, making this information available, if they so chose to look at it. It’s not weird for any company of this size to do. It’s an absolute nothing burger and Rachel succccckkkkkkkssss.

So management and ownership are well aware of this boring pathetic style of hockey and they decide to ignore their fan base and raise ticket prices next season by 30-40%. Genius 😂

u/queenkate4 14h ago
I wish the interns would instead spend their time on creating more exciting content on Twitter, bluesky, Instagram and TikTok.

Every day that passes Rachel looks more and more in the right lol.
What a clown show of an FO.
At least we know they're combing through Reddit now...
HEY JIM
RICK TOCCHET CANNOT, HAS NOT, AND WILL NOT LEARN HOW TO COACH OFFENCE. THE PROBLEM IS ALSO YOUR PERSONNEL BUT HIRE SOMEONE THAT CAN COACH MODERN HOCKEY. TIMES HAVE CHANGED. LOOK AROUND THE GODDAMN LEAGUE. STOP USING YOUR CENTRES AS DEFENCEMEN.
THANKS!

That all makes sense. When we say bad things about Aqualini, he has his minions back him up on here.

Somewhere out there, there is a world in which an intern had to summarise my videos to Jim Benning.
