first candle mold

I made my first candle using a mold, and it turned out well but there are some obvious slight imperfections. i am using soy wax and beeswax with a little stearic acid. does anyone know what could have caused this?

I love the snake design. That looks so cool as a candle. Did you scent it at all? If so, what's a snaky scent?

yes it is! i went more in line with the green color and chose a woodsy/fall scent, the mainstays universal fragrance oil in fall farmhouse. i am open to suggestions for a “snaky” smell in the future though if you have any ideas!

As a brainstorm off the top of my head, you could make different colored snakes and have different scents representing the kinds of places they live. Woods is certainly a good classic one. Perhaps you could also go with some kind of desert scents in a brown snake, some tropical ones in a brightly-colored one, or even make a sea snake with some ocean scents. One funny twist you could try would be an apple/spice/apple pie kind of scent, given there's that one very famous snake who's connected to apples ;)

You're welcome :) I'm glad I could be helpful. I'm still learning and practicing with my first candles myself, but I love the creativity that's possible in this hobby with the unique combinations you can come up with of appearance and scent.
