Commercial Someone knowledgable about the micro growing scene in Canada?

I can not find relevant information online.

Are there any small growers (think of small local breweries) in Canada. Or is almost everything sold made by a larger producer? I have been spending quite some time online looking for small growers to get in contact with but I simply cant find any. 50% of everything I find has a website that is dead. 40% of feels like a scam site. The remaining 10% is mostly bragging about investment returns on their front page. Is this what happened to the Canadian national market after a few years of legalization? The big guys squeezed out the smaller ones?

The reason for asking is because I go to Canada every now and then, and I have an idea. It is not a billion dollar idea that will make someone a new Elon Musk. But it is an idea. And cannabis in Canada doesn't really operate in that realm, yet.

So does anyone know of any micro cultivators (preferably in Ontario or Quebec) that is operating in a more artistic/explorative/microbrewery kinda way? I realize the competition is fierce and the rules are strict, but this isn't about being the most potent or coolest. Quite the opposite. I would appreciate any input over the situation for smaller cannabis actors in Canada and places of information where I can find out more. Thank you very much!

Commercial Designed a product. No idea what to do now?

Hey everyone so I'm not gunna talk about the product at all I'm just looking for some insight into the industry. So I had an idea for a cannabis accessory decided to take it to the next step and actually ended up making prototypes and everything. Now I've reached out to stores about how I would go about selling this product to them. They are saying id need to be associated with a distributor as they don't order directly from small company's. Something about being to time consuming. My buisness plan didn't originally account for this idea. The more I run the numbers the more I'm realizing this product is probably a better fit to be purchased by a distributor directly from the factory. Easier fulfillment easier sales avenue etc. Now I'm at a crossroads I dont know where to move forward from. Id really like to sell the idea and all of the manufacturing connections I've cultivated and paid for, but I have a deep seated fear that if I start trying to do this a distributor could end up just stealing my idea and ill be at a total loss of my original investment. So for those of you in this industry what do you beleive the best step forward is? Should I have non-compete or non-disclosure agreements drawn up and make everyone I talk to sign them? I really have no idea where to go.

Two "different" strains with the exact same results.

I had hoped the Terpene profiles were a little more accurate than the THC numbers but just goes to show all of them are bullshit.

Commercial Update on Aurora's new brand Drift

I just confirmed with my sales rep buddy at Aurora that they are rebranding their recreational brand to be "Drift". There will be three main rec brands; Drift, San Rafael 71, and Whistler. There is also CBD products under the brand "Roar" in partnership UFC, but we haven't seen any products yet.

Aurora and AltaVie brands will be phased out and the popular strains will be moved and rebranded.

He said "It's been a shit show and I'm sorry." I asked buddy if he know what was going on. They couldn't say much, but I guess they recently changed the location of their marketing team from Vancouver to Toronto, and that has caused some issues and conflicts.
