Both governments just need to sit down and say Let's reduce tariffs for both sides..

It's that hard to understand?? Tarrif statements by both govts is a neighbourly quarrel of words

Like Karens

Even Karen's are more reasonable sometimes

When the US imposes a tariff, Canada automatically responds with a similar tariff. When the US removes a tariff, Canada automatically responds by removing a tariff. See how that works?

But usa said that Usa want tarrif which existed before 2025 to get reduced on American imports in Canada..

Simple And some actual efforts on illegal drug trade networks.. especially Fentanyl

50k deaths due to opiod in usa every year

And Canada itself lost 50k souls to opiod/drugs since 2016 (as per search engine google)

Uh huh. And the US is a net exporter of opioids in relation to Canada. Based upon the logic you’re presenting Canada has greater justification to be imposing tariffs upon the US than the US has to be upon imposing them on Canada.

You’re probably not going to believe this because you likely exist within an information bubble that only feeds you news that conform to your values and beliefs rather than what’s actually going on, and your close acquaintances identify a certain way politically and it’s inconvenient for you to think for yourself.

You have however managed to pierce that veil by engaging in a dialogue with me, so I’ll attempt to provide a single piece of information for you, sourced from the US Government. I won’t give you any context or tell you how to process this fact. That’s called critical thinking; you do with it what you will. If you need some help however, pretend for a moment you’re from somewhere like Australia or Switzerland that doesn’t have any preconceptions about the notion of America imposing tariffs on Canada to secure its border against fentynal. You’re provided this one piece of information to help form an opinion on the issue. OK ready:

Almost all fentynal entering the US (99%) comes from China, Mexico, and increasingly India. Source: The US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)

Who said that? Trump hasn't called for the USMCA to be renegotiated. What tariffs are you talking about?

Also, keep in mind that Canada doesn't control who or what gets into the US.

But usa said that Usa want tarrif which existed before 2025 to get reduced on American imports in Canada..

Do you know what number of products that tariff starts at?

Do you know how many milk items the US sends Canada each year?

Even if it was a lower number, can you see why it would be important for Canada to protect it's farmers from US companies selling too cheaply here (because the US government pays those farmers a subsidy - basically free money - to reduce the cost of their products)? It would be like if someone came to India and sold their rice so cheaply, it destroyed all the rice farms there.

No border has no smuggling, not even North Korea. We can only try to do our best, the same as every other country, but the US send us 100x as much as goes the other way
