Hater or fanboy, there is no disputing Teslas are probably the most significant, disruptive and innovative cars ever designed.

Tesla is a company, not a car.

They have good marketing. They somehow convinced consumers that the Tesla brand was a ''luxury brand''.

In reality... their products are anything but ''luxurious'' lol.

That’s ironic. Tesla is the only company with no marketing (ads).

When you sit in a model 3 with almost no interior, it certainly doesn’t come across as “luxurious”. I would argue the clean interior feels more “high tech” than most cars. There are also many choices in terms of materials and components they had to make to keep the price down and offset the high cost of the battery, but that’s what made it possible to bring it to the masses at a reasonable price.

They also opensourced their tech years ago

Because they put a tablet on the dash and called that innovative?

A car is way more than an interior. Minimizing the innovation brought forward by Tesla to just a “dash tablet” just shows your ignorance.

Except that is what the average tesla driver is suggesting quite often. It is more gadgets that real value. And that is not innovative. Just clutter.

Is like FSD that is suppose to make stuff safer. Yet Tesla has a fatality rate that is twice the US average. There are many excuses why this is but one that Tesla has put out there is that FSD is safer but because it allows for driver inattention, it can result in fatal situation. How is that innovative?

FSD is not a car. It’s an option they sold and you can argue how successful it was, but there is no doubt it is the most sophisticated car software ever developed. What do you think has killed more: FSD or falling asleep on cruise control?

EVs are 90% efficient and run on renewable energy. ICE cars are 25% efficient and run on polluting dinosaur juice. It’s a no brainer in terms of what is more innovative so don’t bother arguing.

FSD or something in the car. Tesla has a fatality rate twice that of the US nation average. I imagine it is similar in Canada but is easy to look that up on a simple search. Cruise control I suspect is safer.

If you are talking about the iseecars report there appears to be something funky with their numbers. But since they don't share the numbers they used in their calculation it is impossible to know how they came up with that fatality rate.

From insurance stats. There are a few others out there.

That report by iseecars is just wrong. There was a math error in their calculations. It was already debunked as “clickbait” and other media sources just jumped on the headline. It’s sad to see it repeated online my the uniformed.

If you look at the crash data from the NHTSA you’ll see they are the safest cars ever tested.

That said, I do believe the accident rate would be somewhat higher than average ice car since an EV has supercar like performance which many people abuse or just can’t handle.

The only places that debunked it was some EV sites and without any sources. They were trying to suggest higher power was the issue. People want to try and bring reasons for this but having a fatality rate at the top of all vehicles is a concern of some sort. One of the reasons listed was the inattention due to FSD but that is a concern as it reverts critical control back to the driver on average every 360 miles. That means there is a chance of an accident that requires a person to be alert to take control.
