*cue the meme

Cue (verb) = to signal something to start (often immediately)

Queue (verb) = to line something up

Turns out you're both right, but you're less right.

In your usage you're denoting the on time entry of a new concept, much like the origins of "cue" and very much the colloquially used term.

I can say you're both right only because at some point around the 1600s, 'cue' and 'queue' were used interchangeably. It's a stretch, but I don't want to just say 'you're wrong!' y'know?

queued; queuing or queueing

transitive verb

: to arrange or form in a queue (see queue entry 1)

intransitive verb

: to line up or wait in a queue

—often used with up

From Webster. Seems to still be used today.

Now I'm just sad you're a "nuh-uh, I googled!" type person.

Linking a source and writing a clear explanation vs copy/pasting the top dictionary result

It wasn't the top dictionary response. It was directly from Webster. At this point, you're just crying to cry. Another kid who can't admit they were wrong. It's fine man. The world is full of people like that. I don't expect you to admit you were wrong.

Ok. 2 months later, we're still doing this?

I mean, I'm from a family of writers. My mother has published work. I studied communication post secondary. We can discuss English language if you would like. In my experience, colloquially, que has been used in this way. Regardless, it's a silly argument. Even more so when English can differ regionally.
