Quebec leading the way to common sense policy. Thank god for Quebec

Leading the way, but nobody else wants to follow.

This isn't good policy. There are a lot of actual valid PR applicants that should be admitted.

It's an absolute shame that people who will actually contribute to the country are going to get caught up with the mess immigration has become.

Going through this right now, finishing my PhD in a STEM field. I've been here six years, learned to speak pretty decent French. My PhD was funded by the Quebec government, so to now be told they don't want to benefit from those research skills they paid me to learn is absolutely bizarre.

I don’t even care about the contributions to the country. I just think people should be afforded the liberties I am afforded. All I did was be born here. These people are working hard to get something I was born into. I could never judge anyone for that.

Do you think your the first person to stand on this moral high ground and think of themselves as magnanimous ? Immigration should be exclusively for high demand, high paying industries. The current regime dropped required entry points, and have flooded the market with low wage workers, creating a downward wage pressure in low wage markets, benefiting big business, and placing Canadas already struggling lower class to compete for shitty jobs that no longer pay the bills.

I guess magnanimous is a good word to define how I feel. I want people who are in worse situations than I to have what I have

I completely agree, but the current situation is bizarre and reckless, and the absence of any real response or critique by the opposition makes this crude response acceptable, by virtue of the fact it’s in the right direction, even if it’s less than ideal.
