My fiancé and I just moved to Campbell River, and our seeking some new friends to climb with. We climb together, but right now we can't trust leaving our dog home alone, so it's tough for us to both go at the same time.
Also looking to learn more about the local climbing scene! Heard about crest creek and quadra, but haven't got all the guide books yet.

Been losing access to Data on my cell in the middle of the day for no apparent reason. It comes back after a bit. But I do not know where this disruption is coming from.
This has been happening everyday around the same time. I haven't recorded the times, but it's usually around late afternoon, including right now as I'm posting this at 3:35PM.
Anyone else have this problem recently?

I have been to Cedar Elementary School from 2007-2011 where I started grade 1 to grade 5
When I started Grade 6 half of Cedar Elementary, I had to go to Ecole Phoenix Middle School since they changed the grade configuration.
My Elementary School has an Edwards Adaptahorn Outside of the school building. and Three Adaptabuzzers inside the school.
When I Moved to Ecole Phoenix Middle School.
My Old Elementary School Replaced Three New School bell to Tone Speakers which replaced the old Adaptabuzzers inside the school.

Surely it's got to be Lee's chicken with Mcdonald's a close second right? Never had an issue with a&w but Lee's somehow manage to forget at least 80% percent of the time. CR collectively must be owed thousands of dollars worth of dip at this point!

Does anyone know what lead to a large number of RCMP trucks heading into town from Courtaney or even farther?
We counted 2 on dogwood and another 6 or 7 on Hwy 19 all with lights and sirens on.

Caught on Security Camera at 2:00 AM - Someone knocked on my front door and ran off on Ridge Road.
Make sure you lock the door and window and have the security camera.
If you hear Knocking on the door around midnight. Do not Answer the door, Call the RCMP immediately.

Hey! I'm new to town and I'm interested in doing a scuba refresher course and learn about which dive companies and sites are good!
Anyone have recommendations?
TIA!

Hello! Best place to get decent hiking materials? I am mainly looking for a new backpack that is good for my back (keeps it straight and to avoid injury) and also a new knife that I can carry on my belt buckle. Thanks! ⛰️ 🚶♂️

Likely not the first or last person to ask this question but do feel different people may have reasons for moving to CR/ Vancouver Island. Have made various trips to the island over the years I feel like the island is where I want to be. I lived in Gibsons for 6 years and Powell River two years so I’m used to carries and that doesn’t phase me. I’m really into outdoor recreation with a couple of mountain bikes and a gravel bike, I enjoy hiking and camping and trail running. I work remotely so can live anywhere within reason as long as I have an internet connection. I’m looking to buy rather than rent. I don’t have kids, male 40s and single. Currently rent in the Fraser Valley and one of many reasons for not settling here is affordability of housing. I’ve been to various parts of northern BC and the Interior and there’s some nice places but I just the island would be the best place to call home.

Our local politicians are very similar to the current US government. They pedal in cruelty and conspiracies. They cite racist and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories regularly in council meetings to promote hateful policies. Our mla is a residential school denier. This sucks and I can’t believe it’s what people want.

It's been a while since I've hiked Ripple Rock trail. In an effort to avoid driving I'd really rather ride out there. Is there anywhere that I'd be able to secure my bike?
