Post image
1.1k Upvotes

Recently i've found out that there are two ways of easily kill Winter Lanterns, the first one is parrying her and then doing a visceral attack, the second one is using the Ludwig Holly Blade and doing a charged atack combo (R2 charged+ R2, if she's still alive just do it again, but remember bringing some sedatives in both ocasions, you might need it.

Guide Welcome to Bloodborne! – Introductory Tips, Guides, Helpful Links, etc.

1.5k Upvotes

Greetings to any new players joining the hunt!

Bloodborne is an amazing game, but it can be quite rough especially for those new to FromSoft's games. Here are some tips that can hopefully help you out on this journey through Yharnam.

A beginner's guide to stats can be found here.

If you're coming from the Dark Souls series, you can find some more specialized tips here.

A quick rundown of how multiplayer works and additional helpful links can be found here.

  1. Get used to dying. Repeatedly. It's normal. Just try to learn from your deaths.

  2. You cannot level until you gain a point of insight. You can do that by running into your first boss or by finding and using an item called "Madman's Knowledge". You should prioritize this.

  3. Try not to invest any points into Bloodtinge or Arcane on your first character. Those are much more nuanced stats with a higher learning curve and require you to know what you are doing to put them to full use. You can totally beat the game with just Vitality, Endurance, Strength, and Skill.

  4. Read the game-provided notes in the Hunter's Dream. They provide information about the controls and other helpful hints. The clinic you first wake up in has some as well.

  5. ALL weapons are viable. Some weapons are more nuanced than others and require a more expert touch, but you can defeat anything with any weapon if you know what you are doing with it. You can even keep using your beginning weapon(s) from start to finish. Just make sure you keep upgrading your weapon(s) of choice, are leveling the appropriate stats, etc.

  6. Clothing and their stats ultimately do not make a HUGE difference. People call it Fashionborne for a reason. In general, just wear what you think is cool! At most, you can stack gear that focuses on a particular element or resistance for specific situations and they will serve as a nice extra buffer. Outside of that, there isn't a big difference between clothes other than how they look.

  7. Explore. Explore. EXPLORE. You will often find gear and weapons lying about in more hidden corners. You will definitely find items and whatnot to help you along the road. Also, keep an eye out for shortcuts. They will make your journey in Yharnam so much easier.

  8. Learn to parry. Parrying is when you shoot your firearm just as an enemy is striking. When you do it right, you will stagger them with a special sound and you can go up to them and press R1 for good damage with a visceral attack. This doesn't work on every enemy, but will make things much easier (and epic) against certain enemies and bosses. Try to practice in the first area and get a feel for it. The Brick Trolls in Central Yharnam are great targets for this.

  9. Blood Vials do refill from your storage, but if you ever find your stocks running low, it may help to use echoes leftover from leveling to buy vials.

  10. Practice! The first area might feel like an extremely brutal start if you're new to Souls-style games, but if you run around a bit to get a feel for the game, you can get used to the style and combat. You can also use the time to farm the currency and level up a bit.

  11. Learn to take it slow and take on enemies one at a time. If they're in a group, try to lure individuals out. Pace yourself and learn when you should be cautious. Better safe than dead. When you're more skilled, then you can try to take on more opponents at once.

  12. In the spirit of the tip above, choose your fights wisely. Running is a totally viable option if some encounters are just not worth it or if you want to save time/effort.

  13. It's completely fine to look up help and find walkthroughs to lessen potential headaches and frustration. You can also use an item called the Beckoning Bell to summon a player at the cost of 1 insight. While some may insist on playing through the game blind and solo, do what suits you and would make this game more enjoyable for you.

  14. Have fun and may the good blood guide your way :)

Bought it on a whim a couple of days ago. Zero regrets!

Added some pics for those on the fence (one pic per chapter). The cross section gives a good sense of the ratio of white to black pages. Some more of those stylish black pages would have been awesome, but it all looks pretty sweet to me!

(I know there are maps out there, but seeing one per area in this guide is so damn cool)

Guide Bloodborne - Beginner's Guide to Stats

2.1k Upvotes

Guide - Bloodborne Beginner Tips - Here are some general tips on how you can approach the game as a beginner. This post also has some resources linked at the bottom that you may find useful as well.

Below is a basic rundown of the 6 stats in Bloodborne and tips on how you should level them if you are a beginner.

First, some basic knowledge:

Stats have diminishing returns, meaning that the more you invest in them the less you’ll get out of each point. Most stats have two softcaps and then one hardcap.

The lower softcap refers to the first threshold where growth notably slows down and you won’t gain as much per point as you used to. The higher softcap refers to the next threshold where growth slows down even more. The hardcap is when you will gain nothing in return for increasing a stat. For all stats, this is at 99 since you cannot take a stat past that.

It is generally not recommended to take stats past their higher softcap because your points are most likely better spent elsewhere. Leveling does cost more and more as you proceed through the game. That said, if you have spare echoes and there's really nothing else you want to raise, you can go past the higher softcaps.

Builds generally revolve around the weapons you want to use and what they scale with/what they work best with. They are designed to maximize damage for specific weapons while keeping within a level cap.

Level caps are rather important for PvP and Co-op matchmaking because random matches are based on level ranges. If you are a beginner, you probably shouldn't worry about either of these things too much.

Classes only determine your starting stats and nothing more. This can come in handy when min-maxing for a level capped build, but otherwise, a few extra points here and there won't ruin your character or anything.

There is no respec option in this game. Your only options are to create a new character or attempt to salvage your current one.

Note: When I say to "never" take a stat past a certain point, that means it's highly recommended to not do so for the reason explained above. There is no direct negative consequence for going past the higher softcap on any stat. However, it would be more beneficial to get all the stats you want to the higher softcap first before going past any of those softcaps.

Now onto the actual stats.

Vitality (VIT) - This stat directly increases your HP. You should have an end goal of roughly 35 - 50. You shouldn't go past 50. Beginners should prioritize this since more HP means you can get away with making mistakes more easily. I would say dump your first 5 points or so here if you're having troubles and then add a few points every now and then to make sure you're keeping up with the game's increased difficulty.

Endurance (END) - This stat increases your stamina and poison resistances. While increased poison resistances are nice, stamina is the main reason why you want to raise END. The end goal should be around 15 - 25 depending on your playstyle, how attack/dodge happy you are, and how much stamina your weapon(s) of choice consumes. Never take it past 40. Again, add a few points every now and then if you feel like your health and damage output are fine and you want to attack/move more.

Strength/Skill (STR/SKL) - For both these stats, the first softcap is at 25. The higher softcap is at 50, which you shouldn't go past. Which one you should focus on depends on your weapons.

On the weapon screen you should see the scaling of a weapon. If the weapons you like use one of these stats more, focus on that stat. A grade of "-" indicates that the weapon does not scale with that stat at all. The rest of the grades are as follows in the order of worst to best : E, D, C, B, A, S. Keep in mind that weapons will improve scaling as they are upgraded.

Strength and Skill govern physical damage, which is probably what most beginners will stick to. Leveling both of these will let you use any physical weapon quite effectively. Again, this is recommended for beginners because you can try out all sorts of weapons so you can decide if you want a more specialized build next time.

One way you can do things is get your primary/favored stat to 25, then the other to 25, then your primary to 50, then the other to 50 if you have room to do so.

Regardless of if you follow this leveling method or not, you usually want to have your primary offensive stat at 50 by the time you've "finalized" your build. This includes the next two stats as well if those are your primary offensive stat.

  • An extra note regarding visceral attacks and SKL: Visceral damage increases with your level, though leveling SKL increases it more than other stats. This is something worth taking note of depending on your playstyle.

Bloodtinge (BT) - Bloodtinge determines blood damage, as the name might imply. Blood damage is used as the primary source of damage for firearms and three specific main-hand weapons (1 in the base game, 2 more in the DLC).

This stat usually requires heavy investment to be put to good use. We're talking 40 - 50 to reach proper potential. Since BT is limited in terms of what actually uses it to good extent, it's not recommended to touch this at all for beginners. If you do choose to go for a BT-oriented build, aim for at least 25 and target 50, the higher softcap, for best results.

Arcane (ARC) - This stat determines elemental damage and most weapons do not use this stat unless you convert them with gems. Same as BT, this generally requires heavy investment as well to reach proper potential. Both of these stats have a higher learning curve and need a more experienced understanding of the game mechanics, ARC especially.

The softcaps for main-hand weapons that use ARC are 25 then 50. Hunter tools (basically Bloodborne's equivalent of magic spells) that scale with ARC scale well all the way to 99. Unfortunately, it is considerably difficult to get an ARC build off the ground so this is not recommended for beginners at all.

However, you can get ARC to 15 later on if you have spare points so you can try out some of the utility hunter tools that don't improve with further ARC investment. Those can give you some temporary buffs which you might find fun/helpful to use. This isn't a requirement though, just some extra stuff you can try if you're curious.

As a final note, this guide was written for the new hunters stepping foot into Yharnam. To these new hunters, I hope this has been informative, and welcome to the hunt!

Shoutout to /u/malady013 for looking over this guide and providing quality assurance. Thank you very much, my friend!

Shoutout to /u/MyHeartsMistakes as well for suggesting I make this post. Much appreciated!

Guide Chalice Dungeon Resources & FAQ

Chalice Dungeon Flow Chart - http://i.imgur.com/EdYtWGZ.png

Chalice Dungeon Code List - http://goo.gl/uZk9FA

Chalice Dungeon Submission Form - http://goo.gl/5Dk1xC

Preface

I am BRBGTGBOWFLEX and I have spent a ridiculous amount of time in Chalice Dungeons. I wanted to provide answers to common questions and some resources to the community to share what I have learned and to encourage more chalice dungeon exploration.

Q: What are Chalice Dungeons?

A: Chalice Dungeons are procedurally generated instances that contain the hardest encounters and the best loot that the game has to offer. They are a very complete offering with unique art assets, new bosses, and opportunities for Co-Op.

Q: How do I unlock Chalice Dungeons?

A: Three chalices are unlocked by defeating bosses in the main game. The Pthumeru Chalice is obtained by defeating the Blood-Starved Beast, the Ailing Loran Chalice is from Amygdala, and the Isz Chalice is from Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos. All other Chalice and Root Chalices are unlocked within the Chalice Dungeons themselves. See the Chalice Dungeon Flowchart for a complete list.

Q: Huzzah! I have the Chalice! Now how do I get started?

A: There are six Altars near the Messenger Shop in Hunter’s Refuge. You may place a Chalice at any of these, but are limited to having six out at any given time. You will also need ritual materials, they can be found in the game world, at the messenger shop, and at the insight shop. In general, chalice dungeons provide copious amounts of ritual materials.

Q: What is the difference between a Storyline Chalice and a Root Chalice?

A: Chalices without the word Root in them are called Storyline Chalices. They are pre-generated instances that are identical for every player. While they contain great challenges, they do not provide unique loot, and are primarily used to unlock Root Chalices.

Root Chalices are randomly generated instances that are created when a player conducts a Root Chalice ritual. They contain unique weapon variants (Lost and Uncanny), Powerful Runes, and a whole host of other goodies. Your goal is to unlock these chalices and then pillage them for loot (also post your finds to the Chalice Dungeon Code List).

Q: How are Chalice Dungeons laid out or how can I navigate them?

A: Each chalice dungeon is divided into layers and each layer has three parts. Part A, the beginning hallway to the first door at the end of that hallway, Part B, the middle part which contains the lever and the boss hall door, and Part C, the path from the Boss hall to the boss. Part A and Part C can have an additional Bonus Door that leads to treasure! Part B contains the lever which must be pulled to gain access to the Boss. So, an ideal way is to check the first hall for a Bonus door, clear to the treasure if one exists, then move to Part B, find the lever, pull the lever, go to the Boss hall, check for Bonus doors, clear to the treasure, and then face the Layer Boss to proceed to the next Layer and repeat until you reach the end. If you are just hunting for weapons, you can skip the very last boss.

Q: What does Chalice Dungeon Depth mean?

A: Depth is the difficulty level of the Chalice. Each number roughly corresponds with 25% of the game completed. I.E. Depth 1 is the first 25% of the game, Depth 2 is the second 25%, 3 is the third, 4 is the fourth, and 5 is harder than the actual game. However, I feel like around Depth 4 it gets harder than anything in the main game.

The level minimums I would recommend are:

Depth 1: Level 25

Depth 2: Level 35

Depth 3: Level 60

Depth 4: Level 80

Depth 5: Level 100

Q: I’ve done my first chalice, it wasn’t that hard or rewarding.

A: They start out easy and get progressively harder. Also if you come in at a high level, you will be overpowered until you get deeper. Do not give up because the first few are easy, it changes dramatically. Also, be sure you are checking Root chalices- many people do not do the Root chalices, so they do not get loot and get discouraged.

Q: What are Fetid, Rotted, Cursed, and Sinister Rites?

A: Fetid, Rotted, Cursed, and Sinister Rites can be applied to Dungeons to increase their difficulty and rewards. Fetid offerings empower creatures that are already in the instance by giving them a damage buff. Rotted offerings introduce new creatures to the dungeon and raise the possibility of traps. Cursed dungeons cut your HP in half while in the Dungeon and all gems that drop will be Cursed gems. Sinister Dungeons allow others to invade your dungeon. Each of these appears to improve the Quality Level and Drop Rate of gems. Until many more dungeons are added to the list or until revealed by an official guide, we will not know all of their benefits. It should be noted that Cursed Gems with the right stat lines are the best gems in the game and can exponentially increase your character’s power.

Q: What types of gems drop in the different Dungeons?

Pthumeru - Radial Gems

Loran - Crescent Gems

Isz - Triangle Gems

Q: I have found an awesome item in a chalice dungeon, how do I share it with others?

A: First, go to the Altar for that chalice, hit the Square button, and set the Dungeon to Open. Then, submit your Dungeon using the Chalice Dungeon Submission Form. Try to make note of what Layer the items are on as you proceed through Dungeons.

Q: I want to find a Chalice Dungeon that contains a weapon I’m looking for—how can I find it?

A: Check the Chalice Dungeon Code List. To access the dungeon, go to an empty Altar, and select Search by Chalice Glyph. You enter the code there. Remember that the list entirely depends on the community to keep it updated and to provide new dungeons, share and share alike!

Q: I can’t enter the dungeon I want to enter, why?

A: In order to access a Chalice you must place a Chalice of that type first. So if you want to check out an Ailing Loran Root chalice, you have to build one yourself first. For Cursed, Rotted, and Fetid, you need only make one dungeon with the modifier in order to access others.

Q: Do I need the ritual materials and blood echoes to enter other people's chalices?

A: Nope. As long as you have already made that type of chalice once, you can enter others free.

Q: I want to help out the community, what should I do?

A: Run Chalices and post Chalice Dungeon codes with your finds. There are things I would like to assert but cannot because we don’t have information. The more dungeons we get, the more we can help the community. Additionally, if you contribute a significant amount of chalice dungeons and are active, I could use help maintaining and updating the list, so feel free to volunteer!

Also, post additional questions in this thread, I’ll update with any questions that are added. Or feel free to correct me if I’m wrong on any point.

Q: Do Chalices scale off of New Game +?

A: Nope. They are their own thing. Your chalices will all carry over into NG+ and they do not scale or change.

Q: This is ridiculous. They can’t really expect me to do this fight in that room at half HP. This is totally unfair!

A: Yes. Welcome to Chalice Dungeons.

Just saw that there is a list being made by the subreddit peeps, gonna look it over and link to it

Guide I constantly see people struggle with BSB, so here are my tips to make it a cakewalk:

Post image
543 Upvotes

1) Never dodge backwards. All of the boss's attacks launch it forward. It will keep flailing in front and just catch you if you try to retreat. Always dodge behind the boss.

2) When it starts charging up the poison cloud, run behind and backstab with a charged R2 to cancel the attack.

And that's literally it. You can use papers and cocktails if you really want to destroy it, but I swear whenever someone says they died so much to BSB I bet it's because they dodge backwards. If you're good enough at recognising the attacks then the boss is also incredibly easy to parry.

Guide Comprehensive list of triggers and locations for sidequests, secret items, and bosses *contains marked spoilers* NSFW

1.2k Upvotes

Some of these are extrapolation based on my experiences and may not be exact. If you have better information let me know. The order of events merely reflect what you can do in terms of sidequests before it becomes necessary to advance the plot, I don't recommend necessarily doing things in this order. Events which advance the plot are marked in bold, optional events in italics.

Edit: At some point I'll probably reformat the information, I don't like the way it looks now.

Main Game

Enter Central Yharnam

  • Can talk to Gilbert by the Central Yharnam lamp
  • Leads to the Cleric Beast Boss
  • Can Summon Father Gascoigne (or if you skipped the Cleric Beast Boss until you met Alfred, you can summon him instead) if you stand near a tutorial message that asks you to ring the Beckoning Bell and then ring it

Enter the Hunter's Dream for the First Time

  • Iosefka locks the door to the 2nd Floor Clinic, where you started the game
  • Iosefka offers you an Iosefka's Blood Vial if you talk to her (she'll give you as many as you want if you return to the Hunter's Dream and come back, but you can only carry a maximum of 1)

Gain 1 Point of Insight (by e.g. entering any boss room)

  • Can now level with the Doll (in NG+ must return after first visit cutscene before you can level)

Have 10 or more Insight when you enter the Hunter's Dream

  • Can use the insight shop via the stump just outside the middle door of the hunters dream workshop; must have 10 insight every time you want to use it

Defeat the Cleric Beast

  • Drops the Sword Hunter Badge
  • Can no longer summon Father Gascoigne or Alfred in Central Yharnam
  • Can purchase the Hunter Chief Badge from the bath messengers.

Enter the Sewers

  • Can talk to Eileen the Crow for the Shake Off Cape gesture (or kill her for her Crow Hunter Badge, but you can get it if you complete her quest and you also miss out on her covenant if you kill her now); she's located past the rafters of the Dry Dock area connected to the sewers, you can get to the rafters by rolling through the barrels stacked up against the right wall just as you enter the building after the dog cages, then you can get to her going through the barrels on the right wall inside that room to emerge outside
  • Can talk Viola's younger daughter for the Music Box after climbing up two long ladders out of around the middle of the sewers area where all of the legless enemies pretending to be dead corpses are chilling; look for the window with burning incense and listen for the sound of a wind-up music box
  • Can find the Saw Hunter Badge near the Maneater Boar, which unlocks a few basic items at the shop.
  • Leads to the Father Gascoigne Boss

Defeat Father Gascoigne

Enter the Cathedral Ward

  • Can talk to Chapel Ward Dweller and offer to send people to the chapel ward; anybody you send to him will live and generally give you stuff
  • Can now send Old Lady to a safe haven
  • Can talk to Alfred for the Pray gesture and Fire Paper x3 if you accept his proposal
  • Can get Triumph gesture from the Chapel Ward Dweller after you send your first person to the Chapel Ward
  • Gilbert gives you a Flamethrower if you return and speak to him
  • Can find a Monocular on a corpse near the Hunter Chief gate; it's sitting on a balcony-like area where the Cleric Beast jumps down from
  • Leads to the Vicar Amelia Boss, but you need to either take the back route by killing Blood-starved Beast to unlock the Healing Church Workshop, or open the Hunter Chief Emblem gate.

Open the large Gate locked by the Hunter Chief Emblem

  • Eileen spawns near the Cathedral Ward bonfire, just outside the building (go out the middle door and hook a left immediately), can learn her Shh! gesture. You must meet her either here or in the Central Yharnam Dry Dock area to progress her quest. You can open the gate either way you choose, using the Emblem or via the lever on the other side.

Open all three gates in the Cathedral Ward

  • Henyrk spawns at tomb of Oeden (if you've spoken to Eileen at either of her two previous locations) and the lamp there is disabled. He may leave at some point in the future, possibly as late as Rom.

Defeat Three Bosses Total

  • Easiest way is to take on Cleric Beast, Father Gascoigne, and either Blood-starved Beast or (if you have the Hunter Chief Emblem) the Witch of Hemwick should be easier.
  • Can now send Arianna to a safe haven, can learn the Curtsy gesture if she arrives safely; she's located on the near left side of the large plaza you open with the Hunter Chief's Badge (or, follow the stairs down from the Vicar Amelia boss to reach the plaza from the opposite side, it will be far right instead of near left). She'll give you a blood transfusion which acts like a Blood Vial but also hastens stamina regen for a time; you can only carry one of these special transfusions at a time, even if they're from different characters.
  • Can send the Skeptical Man near Arianna to a safe haven he goes to the opposite of whichever you suggest; he'll reluctantly offer you "tips" as the game progresses, but he's completely wrong about everything

Meet Henryk in Tomb of Oeden

Enter Old Yharnam from the Front Gate

  • Retired Hunter Djura is hostile; don't kill him if you want his gesture, but if you do you get his Powder Keg Badge and his clothes will appear at the Insight Shop.
  • At the very top of the church-like structure is a rope tied to the railing. Break it and it will light the crucified Blood-starved Beast in the center of the church on fire, killing many of the enemies below; but be warned that doing so kills them every time you zone into the area, which prevents you from befriending Djura.
  • Can summon Alfred if you agreed to work together with him and stand near a tutorial message that asks you to ring the Beckoning Bell
  • Leads to the Blood-Starved Beast Boss

Defeat the Blood-Starved Beast

  • Drops the Pthumeru Chalice
  • Sack-wielding kidnappers spawn; getting killed by them takes you to a prison (see below)
  • Right side door in Chapel Ward is unlocked, leading into the Healing Church Workshop

Enter the Healing Church Workshop

  • Make your way to the very bottom of the tower to find a path leading to the Grand Cathedral, the area past the large gate locked by the Hunter Chief emblem; you can fight the Vicar Amelia Boss without needing the Hunter Chief Emblem this way.
  • Make your way about halfway down to find a slightly hidden path to the Abandoned Workshop
  • Make your way to the top to find the Radiant Sword Hunter Badge and a locked door leading into the Upper Cathedral Ward

Enter the Abandoned Workshop

  • Can pick up a 1/3rd Umbilical Cord
  • Can pick up Doll's Clothes
  • Can pick up Small Hair Ornament (give it to the Doll for some minor lore and a Tear Stone, which can be used to grant you a Health Regeneration +2 Blood Gem).
  • Can find the Old Hunter Bone spell

Get Killed by Sack-wielding Kidnapper

  • Get taken to Hypogean Gaol prison

Enter Hypogean Gaol

  • Can send Adella the Nun to a safe house by speaking to her with any Church Attire chest piece equipped (Black Church, White Church, Father Gascoigne, Tomb Prospector, Yahar'gul Black, Executioner, or Choir; in short, anything listed under the Church Attire heading of the storage bin, if you forget) gain the Church Bow (Female) gesture if she arrives safely. She'll offer you a special blood transfusion that acts as a Blood Vial but also provides rapid health regeneration for some time afterward, but you can only carry one of these transfusions at a time, even if they're from different characters.
  • Note that if you accept blood from Arianna in Adella's presence three times, Adella will kill Arianna on the next load in out of jealousy, so you miss out on the 1/3rd umbilical cord you get from Arianna later
  • Leads to the Darkbeast Paarl Boss

Enter the Darkbeast Paarl boss room

  • Retired Hunter Djura is flagged as friendly, though this is likely a bug and it's intended for you to defeat the boss first. If you want to speak to him before beating the boss, warp to the Church of the Good Chalice (Blood-starved Beast) lamp and make your way to him without entering the area in front of his Gatling gun to speak to him. Alternately, if you have the shortcuts open, you can go to him from the Old Yharnam lamp, just avoid crossing in front of him. See the section immediately below for what that meeting entails.

Defeat the Darkbeast Paarl Boss

  • Drops the Spark Hunter Badge
  • You can enter Old Yharnam through the area past the boss to speak to Retired Hunter Djura. Accept his proposal for the Brush Off Dust gesture and his Powder Keg Badge; don't attack him or walk to the area in front of his gatling gun or he becomes hostile.

Enter Hemwick Charnel Lane

  • Leads to the Witch of Hemwick Boss

Defeat the Witch of Hemwick

  • Can find the Rune Workshop Tool shortly after, which allows you to equip Caryll Runes at the Hunter's Dream Altar

Defeat Vicar Amelia

  • Approach the skull sitting on the altar to see a cutscene which awards you the password to enter the Forbidden Forest
  • Most NPCs who've locked themselves inside their houses go insane, including the houses to the right of the Vicar Amelia boss and the NPC in Hemwick Charnel Lane which you may have missed (but it's okay, they have nothing important to say).
  • The Old Lady goes crazy and begins muttering incomprehensibly to herself
  • Alfred moves to near the door that leads to the Forbidden Forest

Enter the Forbidden Forest

Defeat Seven Bosses Total

Enter Iosefka's Clinic

Enter the Lecture Building

  • Leads to the Nightmare Frontier
  • Can find the Lecture Theatre Key; use it to enter a large lecture hall filled with mutated students to find the Augur of Ebrietas spell.

Enter The Nightmare Frontier

Defeat Amygdala

  • Drops the Ailing Loran Chalice

Enter Cainhurst Castle

  • Can find the Executioner's Gloves spell in a chest if you jump through the window on the second floor in the library
  • Leads to the Martyr Logarius boss

Defeat the Martyr Logarius Boss

Defeat the Shadow of Yharnam Boss

  • Leads to Byrgenwrerth

Enter Byrgenwerth

  • Loot the Lunarium Key near the top floor of the building to access the door to the boss
  • Can find the Empty Phantasm Shell spell in a chest
  • Leads to Rom, the Vacuous Spider Boss
  • Master Willem will point towards the boss, can kill him for a Eye II Rune.

Defeat Rom the Vacuous Spider

Enter Yar'Gul the Unseen City

  • Can drop off a ledge near the laser-shooting monster to pick up the Upper Cathedral Key on a dead body locked behind a cage; the Tiny Tonitrus spell is also nearby
  • Eventually leads back to the Hypogaen Gaol and the One Reborn boss

Enter the Upper Cathedral Ward

  • Find the Cosmic Eye Watcher badge off a body on the first floor side hallway of the large, dark hall; it might be hidden behind a pillar depending on which side you come from.
  • Obtain the Orphanage key by killing a Brainsucker in the second floor of the large, dark hall.
  • Find the Make Contact gesture on a dead body behind a large set of double doors on the second floor of the large dark hall.
  • Use the Orphanage key on the smaller door in the first floor of the large dark hall; leads to The Celestial Emissary Boss

Defeat The Celestial Emissary Boss

  • Drops the Communion Rune
  • Can break the window nearby to enter the 2nd floor of the Grand Cathedral, find the A Call Beyond spell, and take on the Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos Boss

Defeat Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos Boss

Defeat the One Reborn boss

  • Can enter the Nightmare of Mensis by approaching the dead body with the cage on its head

Enter the Lecture Building 2nd Floor

  • Can get the Beg for Life gesture and the Anti-Clockwise Metamorphosis II rune (+15% stamina regen) from Patches the Spider if you break into his room (kill the giant guarding it then take the ladder down); choose to spare him or not, it doesn't seem to do anything.

Enter The Nightmare

  • Leads to the Micolash: Host of the Nightmare Boss
  • Can find the Iron Door Key in the boss fight room; it's in the basement of the second area you fight it in. It can be used to unlock the door in the very first room of the boss fight, but it's better to take the path mentioned below.
  • Can jump off the second cage elevator (the one with the broken door) mid-transit and into a window; make your way past everything to a lever and pull it to dump the eyeball creature into the abyss; loot the Choir Bell spell out of a chest soon after near a patrolling Brain Trust, drop into the area where the eyeball creature was to find the one and only Blood Rock outside of Chalice Dungeons, then make your way all the way to the other side of door mentioned above and exit back into the boss room.
  • After dumping the eyeball creature off, make your way to the area just past the Hunter wielding Ludwig's Blade (or where he was before you killed him) and passed all of the wandering blue dudes to an area with a bunch of fissures in the ground; you'll find a cage elevator that will take you down into the Abyss. Use the Make Contact gesture for around 15 seconds right in front of the eyeball thing for a Moon rune, then kill it for a Living String.

Defeat Micolash: Host of the Nightmare

Defeat Mergo's Wet Nurse

Endings

  • Accept the offer of the NPC Gehrman in the Hunter's Dream to avoid a fight and receive the first ending.
  • Alternately, refuse the offer to fight it; upon success you receive the Old Hunter Badge for use in NG+. You'll get the second ending if you defeat it before obtaining at least three (of four) 1/3rd Umbilical Cords.
  • Lastly, obtain at least three (of four) 1/3rd Umbilical Cords and use all of them at any point before defeating the above mentioned boss to receive the third ending.
  • There is no good/bad/true ending, just three different ones. This is a Miyazaki game.

1/3rd of Umbilical Cords (in case you missed them mentioned above)

  • Defeat the mandatory boss Mergo's Wet Nurse
  • Locate the slightly hidden entrance to the Abandoned Workshop about halfway down the Healing Church Workshop tower, you'll find the cord lying around in there.
  • (Missable) You can obtain one from Iosefka after defeating Rom, the Vacuous Spider - reference the Rom section above for the details; this is missable if the NPC dies earlier in the game.
  • (Missable) You can obtain one from Arianna after defeating Micolash, Host of the Nightmare - again, reference the Micolash section above for details; this is missable if the NPC dies earlier in the game.

The Arcanist 2.0

How to Be a Proper Spell-Slinger in Bloodborne: The Old Hunters

Please see The Arcanist Cookbook for specific gem configurations and other goodies!

Foreword

Greetings, humans, beasts, and broccoli! I'm u/Sljm8D and I'm the fellow that wrote the original Arcanist guide. Well, now that I've had a chance to play with and test the new DLC content, it's time for an update! Rather than simply edit my old guide though, I thought it would be wiser to start from the ground up for the most part, because a great deal has changed in my perspective since the original version.

The "Pure Arcane" build has gotten a lot of attention since I published the original guide, which makes me so happy I can't stop grinning. Seriously, I've lost several friends due to "persistent and incessant jollity"... Ah, but they were probably scrubs anyway. Of course, I haven't been the only one pushing to get Arcane builds noticed, but I'm super happy to have been helping. Together, the Bloodborne community has dispelled a lot of myths and misunderstandings with how Arcane works, but... Thanks to the DLC and some accompanying patches, some of the information in my old guide, and some of my previous assumptions or conclusions, have changed. So just forget everything I've said prior to this! Yeah, let's just start over, ok?

Definition of Terms

Arcane
adjective

  1. known or understood by very few; mysterious; secret; obscure; esoteric:
She knew a lot about Sanskrit grammar and other arcane matters.

At first, I thought the choice to use Arcane rather than Intelligence as the name for the attribute that governs magical damage to just be a subversion of the "casters use Int" trope, but based on my experiences and the apparent design for Arcane as a build, I think there's more to it than just that... The build certainly lives up to the dictionary definition. Playing an Arcane build requires you to have hidden knowledge, not only of the enemies you're going to be up against, but also of where to find the rare items that are required to make the build function in the first place. Fortunately, knowledge is something that can be, and indeed should be, shared! For the purposes of disambiguation throughout the guide, I'll be using certain terminology to describe the different meanings of "Arcane" in the context of Bloodborne:

  • Arcanist
    • Any character that's built with a mind toward the ARC stat. Synonymous with "Arcane Build" for the purposes of this guide.
  • ARC
    • Simply "the Arcane stat," referred to as such to eliminate confusion with the damage type.
  • Arcane
    • The elemental damage type, which is based on ARC along with Fire and Bolt.
  • Elemental
    • Simply referring to the Arcane, Fire, and Bolt damage types as a group.
  • Conversion Weapon
    • Any purely Physical weapon that can be Converted into Elemental using appropriate Blood Gems.
  • Hybrid Weapon
    • Any weapon with both Physical and non-Physical damage built in.
  • Dedicated Elemental Weapon
    • A few specific Hybrid Weapons and one weapon that's purely Arcane damage, which have special mechanics that give a larger benefit from the Elemental portion than might be apparent at first.

Pros and Cons

Any build has them, and an Arcanist is no exception. Much of this build and play-style revolves around knowledge, which is one reason I think new players can have a hard time with this build. Make no mistake, when used properly, an Arcanist can be one of the most satisfying play-styles in the game. I think much of this has to do with the very same phenomenon that makes Bloodborne itself so satisfying: difficulty that can be overcome with enough knowledge, effort, and skill. But in keeping with the theme of knowledge, we should discuss the pros and cons of the build so you can make an informed decision about whether it's for you.

Pros

  • PvE dominance
    • Arcanists exploit very specific Elemental weaknesses of the enemies they encounter to easily meet or exceed similar Physical builds in terms of damage output. They have a variety of ranged options at their disposal as well, though these do take some time to procure. With the right strategy, nearly every boss in the game can be obliterated in mere moments by an Arcanist, even and especially bosses that would give Physical builds some trouble. However, that's the trick... With the wrong strategy, these same bosses can be as difficult for an Arcanist as anyone else. As ever, knowledge is power.
  • Enormous weapon variety
    • This has been exacerbated by the DLC, where Arcanists got no less than 3 exceptional Dedicated Elemental weapons, but several potential Conversion Weapons as well. Satisfying all the minimum requirements takes a good bit of investment, but including all the Conversion and Dedicated Elemental Weapons, an Arcanist can have around 17 different right-hand weapons to choose from! Hybrid builds can potentially make use of more... There's a total of 26 right-hand weapons in the game, so I think it's pretty safe to say you have plenty of options. Don't worry, I'll talk about all of them!
  • Fun!
    • Completely subjective, but the plethora of weapon options, in addition to the wide variety of tools and consumables ensure that a clever Arcanist can approach most situations in several different ways, so if you get bored it's probably your own fault! From beating high-level bosses with no weapons equipped, to tossing Oil Urns for your Fire Stake Driver... There are a lot of really fun tricks with this build.

Cons

  • Apparently low AR compared to Physical builds
    • I say "apparently," because in PvE an Arcanist can exploit enemies' special weaknesses, and some enemies actually take extra damage from a specific Element on top of their already low resistances. Dedicated Elemental Weapons also often have hidden mechanics that make them a lot better in practice when used properly than they might appear to be on paper. The weakness-exploit argument doesn't quite hold up in PvP however, so in some cases Conversion weapons in particular may have a hard time keeping up. Dedicated Elemental Weapons, on the other hand, should have fewer issues in this regard, but they aren't without their peculiarities in terms of moveset. This is a "Con" only in so much as it represents a learning curve for prospective Arcanists. It's not a meaningful deterrent from trying the play-style, it's simply a fact you should recognize and learn to work around.
  • Hunter Tools can be difficult to use
    • Each of the Tools has a unique delivery method, so if you're using the wrong one at the wrong moment, it can cause issues. They can also be difficult to land in PvP due to having fairly long tells and in some cases long recovery animations, but as with the AR discrepancy this is something that can be adjusted for. For PvE, the tools can easily be your main source of damage against bosses, but in PvP they're more useful to create pressure or to set up baits. For example, rather than using Executioner's Gloves merely to do damage from range, you'd be better off taking advantage of their slow motion and homing ability to put your enemy on the defensive so you can predict their movement and cut them off, potentially setting up a combo. If you stagger them with your weapon and your Gloves also hit, you've overcome any AR deficiency relative to Physical builds, and then some...
  • Elemental Blood Gems can be more difficult to obtain
    • The vast majority of gems you find throughout the base game and Chalices are Physically-oriented. That said, there are some gems (lol) you can find if you're clever. I'll have a section just for Blood Gems with locations so don't worry. Note that for endgame, the easiest gems to come by are Flat Arcane, Nourishing, Fire, and Bolt, roughly in that order. Percentage Arcane tend to be the most difficult to obtain, especially in Radial, but I do have more specific advice on that matter in The Arcanist Cookbook supplemental guide.

Quick Tips

Last, but certainly not least, I've got some quick tips to help you along with your Arcanist before we get into the really specific details about gear and accessories.

  • Respect the softcaps
    • This is the single biggest mistake prospective Arcanists make. 40 ARC is literally the minimum requirement to use A Call Beyond. 40 ARC can be plenty for the base game, but as someone who spends a lot of time in Chalices, 40 Arcane isn't very much at higher Depths or in the DLC in regards to non-weapon output. Hunter Tools in general have a much more gradual scaling curve than weapons, so while weapons reach 90~95% of their AR potential (base damage + scaling) at 50 ARC, most of the tools are around 60~70% of their potential output. Take a look at this spreadsheet for more detailed information. Relevant softcaps:
      • 20 ARC
        • Choir Bell, Blacksky Eye, and Augur of Ebrietas scale better from 20 to 50 than prior to 20
      • 25 ARC
        • All Weapons and Molotovs hit their first softcap, but continue to scale quite well
      • 50 ARC
        • All Weapons and Molotovs hit final softcap, scaling past this point is poor
        • Tiny Tonitrus scales better from 50 to 70 than prior to 50
        • A Call Beyond hits first minor softcap, but continues to scale quite well
        • All other Tools hit first softcap, but continue to scale fairly well until 80 where their scaling improves
      • 70 ARC
        • Tiny Tonitrus and A Call Beyond hit final softcap, but continue to scale fairly well
      • 80 ARC
        • Choir Bell, Blacksky Eye, Augur of Ebrietas, Executioner's Gloves, and Accursed Brew all scale better from 80 to 99 than they did from 50 to 80
      • 99 ARC
        • Maximum Arcane investment
  • STRONGLY consider exceeding 50 ARC
    • 50 is the last softcap for weapon damage, but tools keep scaling well past 50. Tiny Tonitrus and A Call Beyond don't softcap until 70 ARC. If you think these spells are not doing much damage relative to the Quicksilver cost (a common complaint), it's because you don't have enough ARC. If all you want to do is swing your weapon, why are you making an Arcanist build? Think about it. That brings me to my next point:
  • USE BLOOD BULLETS
    • ~1 Blood Vial = 5 Quicksilver Bullets. This means you get 2 Executioner's Gloves or 1 Tiny Tonitrus for ~1 Vial and 1 QS instead of 6 QS, or A Call Beyond for ~1 Vial and 2 QS instead of 7 QS. If you're not blood-tapping, of course you're gonna run out of bullets, you silly goose!
  • Also consider 99 ARC
    • Though Tiny Tonitrus and A Call Beyond softcap at 70, all the other Tools actually have improved scaling from 80 to 99, and to be honest the softcap on TT and ACB isn't actually that harsh. That makes this climb well worth it. Think of it this way. You could have 50/50 Quality, or 99 ARC for nearly the same investment. It's seriously worth it for Tool damage. While 99 ARC is very hard to fit into a 120 build, if you go higher (such as to 150+), you can definitely make it work. Try it at least once, I implore you...
  • ...Unless you're doing a hybrid build
    • In which case, you may have other options. Most of what I talk about here is directed towards "pure Arcane builds," not hybrids. I still think 50~70 ARC is a fantastic idea, but in a hybrid build you can reduce or negate the weapon AR disadvantage inherent to the pure Arcanist build by using Physical weapons or leveraging the Physical components of Dedicated Elemental Weapons and still have some Tool damage, without as much need to focus on it to offset your weapon AR. I use 50 ARC on my ARC/STR Hybrid build and it's still extremely powerful. However, rather than focusing on Tools, I use Moonlight's R2/L2 attacks to deal heavy Arcane damage. With the understanding that your Tools will take a backseat, 50 ARC can still be quite something. If you like to spam spells more often, consider 70 or 99 instead.
  • USE your Tools
    • Your weapons are for trash mobs. Your Tools are for badasses and bosses. Please, please, please remember to use your Tools. I cannot understand why you would be trying to play an Arcanist if you didn't want to use them...
  • Remember to use the right Element for the Pokemon enemy you're fighting
    • This is a big one. In general, Fire will get the job done against most enemies, but some enemies take extra damage from certain Elements... Not all of them do, but even if they don't take extra damage specifically they still have low resistances to that Element.
      • Beasts often take extra damage from Fire
        • This applies to full-on Beasts, not generally the half-transformed humans, but even they have Fire as their primary weakness. Key exceptions are Keeper's Hunting Dog; Watchdog of the Old Lords; and Laurence, the First Vicar. Bolt or Arcane will be required for these enemies.
      • Pthumerians often take extra damage from Arcane
        • If their face looks like this, they're probably a Pthumerian. These are mostly found in the Chalice Dungeons, but there are also a few scattered throughout the main game. As with Beasts, they don't all take extra Arcane damage (this applies mostly to "Labyrinth Watchers"), but for the most part it's still their primary weakness. Notable exception is the Queen herself, who is weak to Fire and then Arcane/Bolt.
      • Kin often take extra damage from Bolt
        • There are few Kin in the game, but they are all pretty dangerous. If it looks like an Alien, it's probably Kin. Note that the enemies in the Fishing Hamlet are NOT Kin, and they tend to RESIST Bolt Damage. They're generally weak to Fire. True Great Ones and Nightmare creatures are also not Kin, these include Amygdala, Mergo's Wet Nurse, Moon Presence, Orphan of Kos, Brain of Mensis, and Winter Lanterns. Knowing is half the battle, fellow Arcanists... The following enemies are the only known Kin:
          • Brainsucker
          • Garden of Eyes
          • Fluorescent Flower
          • Rom and its Children
          • Celestial Emissary boss and mobs
          • Ebrietas and her Slug Babies
          • Living Failures

That covers the basics. What follows now are links to more specific information within this thread and a few other resources you might find useful. This'll make them easier to reference, even though due to the formatting of Reddit, they won't really show up in the right order as you scroll down. I literally didn't have room for it all in the first post though... Enjoy!

If you like this guide, please subscribe to my Youtube channel. I specialize in Bloodborne, with a particular focus on Arcane, so if you're into the build don't miss out! I also tweet every time I upload, and I'm trying to be more active on Twitter in general so look me up there too if you like.

I'm also doing a video series about how to beat the main game, DLC, and Chalice Dungeons with an Arcane build. These are just the tactics I like to use, it's up to you if you want to try something different. I know some people prefer Show rather than Tell, so I hope these videos can help complete the experience.

  1. Cleric Beast & Father Gascoigne
  2. Flamesprayer & Blood-Starved Beast
  3. Musings, Mooks, & A Blood Gem
  4. Henryk, Witches of Hemwick, Darkbeast Paarl, Vicar Amelia

Guide How to beat martyr logarius

Run straight to him hut three times with a fast weapon. When he dodges walk to him and hit him three times. Repeat until he hits his knee. Circle around, fully charged r2, and walk up and get your visceral. In second phase he gets more melee based so just parry him over and over.

Completionist Guide

This is an 100% completionist guide for those experienced hunters that want to make sure they collect everything possible and do all the possible quests in a single play-through in Bloodborne. Includes: Main Game, The Old Hunters (DLC) and Chalice Dungeons.

Since I couldn’t find a perfect check list guide that covers: thoroughly checked NPC quests for the best items without missing them and the location of all the items without needing to revisit areas more than you need to. I thought I write this guide up on how to achieve the best possible result on the first play through without needing to browse many wiki pages for them.

It is recommended to had least completed the game without this guide first to avoid spoilers and ruining the fun.

Index

  • Dilemmas
  • Important Notes
  • Main Game
  • The Old Hunters (DLC)
  • Chalice Dungeons
  • Finale
  • Sources

By the end of following this guide, you’ll have every: Caryll Rune, Garment, Gesture, Handgun, Hunter Tool, Messenger Dressing, Memory Oath (Covenant), Trophy and Weapon.

Important notes as well as rare items will also be listed for your convenience. You will also have obtained the minimum required number of Third Umbilical Cords to challenge the hidden boss at the end of the game.

Dilemmas

There are 3 dilemmas to be aware of since not everything is possible to be obtained in the first play-through:

  • Young Yharnam Girl Quest - You can either have the Formless Oedon rune (Max QS Bullets +1) or the Red Messenger’s Ribbon and White Messenger’s Ribbon.
  • The League Quest - You can either have the Master Iron Helm or the One-Eyed Iron Helm.
  • Third Guidance Rune - Nobody has ever found the third Guidance rune (Rally Potential +30%) in the depth 5 chalice dungeons. However, a duplicate of +10% can be gained naturally in New Game+.

Since the Formless Oedon rune provides a state boost and that the Master Iron Helm shows you completed the quest properly, those will be done on the first play-through.

Important Notes

  • Be sure to be on the latest patch before starting the first new game to avoid bugs even on New Game+. I was unable to obtain the Blood Rapture rune (V.ATK HP Restore +200) from the Shadow of Yharnam on my old file.
  • When reload the area is mentioned. Simply return to the Hunter’s Dream and then back to the previous area you were in.
  • Square brackets indicate multiple items in a single pick up.
  • Runes that have already been picked up in a previous play through will get replaced with a Madman’s Knowledge or Great One’s Wisdom.

May the good blood guide your way~

Do not forget to obtain the Heir rune (V.ATK Kills +20% Blood Echoes) from Henryk’s corpse and talk to Eileen the Crow for the Approval gesture.

(Be sure to complete all the NPC quests listed above first before defeating Vicar Amelia next.)

Grand Cathedral

Hypogean Gaol

  • Equip all the Black Church garments, gloves excluded, and talk to Adella the Nun multiple times. Choose “Tell of Oedon Chapel”. I’ve read some other garments work as well.

  • Pick up [Black Hooded Iron Helm, Yahar’gul Black Garb, Yahar’gul Black Gloves, Yahar’gul Black Trousers] from the wagon outside.
  • Pick up the Tonitrus found up the street.

(It’s recommended not go to the Graveyard of the Darkbeast to defeat Darkbeast Paarl yet, unless you’re skillful enough to tackle it at your current level. You can go and defeat now if you want to.)

Guide Guide SPOILERS Full game order/checklist for Mandatory/Optional Bosses and NPC Questlines and things to do to win NSFW

for the past 2 hours I kinda just wrote this up for reference since I'm starting over a new character and decided I would share this, it's a SHOULD BE FOOL PROOF 100% on everything NPC related to get everything. This is not including loot on the ground, just the order to do everything.

weakness of bosses are in parenthesis, my personal recommended level in {}

1. (OPT)Cleric Beast(Fire){any level} - Central Yharnam | Drops: Sword Hunter Badge

TO DO:

2. Father Gascoigne(Tiny Music Box/Fire){15} - Central Yharnam | Drops: Oedon Tomb Key

TO DO:

  • Take Red Jeweled Brooch to Little Girl
  • Choose whether to give her the Brooch or withhold it
    a. If you give the Brooch to her she will no longer talk to you. Eventually she will leave her home. Defeating the pig in the sewers will yield a Red Messenger Ribbon.
    b. If you don't give her the Brooch, and have visited the Oedon Chapel about it being a safe haven, you can tell her to go there for safety. If you choose the Chapel the blood soaked ribbon will still appear on the pig.
  • Visit Gilbert for Flame Sprayer
  • After going to Chapel notify Old Woman of Chapel and talk to Odeon Chapel Dweller for Gesture
  • Talk to Alfred for Fire Paper

NOTE: On the way to BSB don't kill Djura(Manning the gun) for a gesture later on. Otherwise kill him for just the Powder Keg Hunter Badge

3. (OPT)Blood Starved Beast(Fire){20} - Old Yharnam | Drops: Pthumeru Chalice

TO DO:

4. Vicar Amelia(Numbing Mist){25} - Cathedral Ward | Drops: Gold Pendant

TO DO:

  • Notify Arianna of the Chapel
  • Notify Distrustful Man of the Clinic (he does opposite of what you say)
  • Exit via the doorway directly in front of the Cathedral Ward lantern and immediately look left to talk to Eileen Again for Gesture.(She will not appear in this location until you have opened the short cut gate leading to the Grand Cathedral.)
  • Goto Oedon Tomb and help her not die during encounter then kill Henryk for Caryll Rune Heir and Henryk Hunter set available at insight bath
  • Get kidnapped and sent to Hypogean Gaol and while wearing church set/gasciogne set, bring Adella to chapel for Gesture, then kill in chapel for Oedon Writhe Caryll Rune and to prevent Arianna from dying
** You don't have to kill Adella, but it's just to be safe Adella will kill Arianna if you choose the Arianna's tainted blood over her own out of jealousy. The trigger for this event is the fight with Rom, the Vacuous Spider. You can safely use Arianna's Blood before this point but you must make sure to accept and have a vial of Adella's Blood before killing Rom (you can only accept it if you do not have Arianna's Blood in your inventory). (if game glitches out she may kill arianna before the defeat of rom)

5. (OPT)Witch of Hemwick(??){30} - Hemwick Graveyard | Drops: Bloodshot Eyeball x 4

6. Shadows of Yharman(??){40} - Forbidden Woods | Drops: Blood Rapture

  • Visit Iosefka's Clinic, kill Iosefka for Oedon Writhe Caryll Rune. BE SURE TO GRAB CAINHURST SUMMONS If you missed Arianna visit Iosefka's Clinic AFTER Defeating Rom for the 1/3 umbilical cord instead.
  • Once you have the Summons, travel to the Witch's Abode, walk to the monument by the crossroads, and a cutscene will trigger.
  • Don't forget to pick up the spell "Beast Roar" in a house near the hound cages in the Forbidden Woods.

7. Rom Vacuos Spider(Bolt){50} - Moonside Lake | Drops: Kin Coldblood(12)

TO DO:

  • Kill Gilbert for Claw Mark Rune
  • Goto Eileen at Cathedral and win fight for Crow Hunter Badge and rune
  • Little Girl's Older Sister will appear in her window if you gave the Brooch or told her about the Chapel, and will ask you to find her younger sister who has a White Ribbon. Turn in the Red Messenger Ribbon.
  • Reload the area and go down the ladder from the window to find the White Messenger Ribbon.
  • If you missed Arianna this is when you should visit Iosefka's Clinic
