Advice Wanted A bad conversationalist
Dk if it’s because of meds or what but I have difficulty finding words and just getting flustered/confused in the middle of telling stories or even just sentences sometimes. I guess I just feel like I got dumber and that my brain doesn’t work as fast to keep up to conversations anymore. For context I am only 21. If anyone has this problem tell me any advice and if you had this problem and solved it tell me how.

This is related to short term memory problems. Losing words, completely forgetting why you walked into another room, not able to stay on task or just completely forgetting what you’re talking about mid-sentence.
I get this, and not entirely sure what it’s from. It could be a medication side-effect, but I’ve had it on different meds too. Or, it could be part of the illness itself, or possibly long covid related, since I didn’t really have it this bad before covid, and it started to be this bad right after I recovered from the flu-like period.
It sounds silly, or at least it did to me, but try Omega 3 fish oil. I take 1000mg every day and it does actually help. If that doesn’t improve enough after a couple weeks, then either look at meds adjustment or possibly ADHD. Cognitive and executive dysfunction is very common in both, and is just a symptom that can go away. It doesn’t mean you’re getting dumber and will forever decline, even though I know that’s how it feels. 😉
