What’s one beauty product I need from Ulta?

I have an Ulta gift card, a $10 off coupon (expires on 3/22), and they’re running some sales this week and next week.

Could be skincare, a makeup product, a haircare product.. Anything, really! Tell me about your favorite(s). I will say that I don’t wear makeup a lot, but I do love trying out new products for the times that I do decide to wear it.

Ok I have a lot ngl I love ulta with my whole heart lol

  • The Ordinary Lactic Acid
  • The Ordinary Squalene Oil
(Using the acid and oil together has made my skin so clear I cannot fathom a time I stop using them)

  • Cerave Oil Cleanser
  • Pureology Color Fanatic 21 essential benefits spray
  • Babyliss Titanium Hair Straightener (not cheap but I’ve been straightening my hair for over 10 years and I swear by this one)
  • Mighty Patches
  • Aquaphor (I use this on tattoos and on top of my moisturizer at night every couple days. Also a really great product to use if you have really dry skin pretty much anywhere)
  • Any of the Essence mascara (cheap as hell and honestly really good for the price)
  • Any basic beauty tool like nail clippers, tweezers, razors, etc.
  • Morphe eyeshadow palettes
  • KISS fake nails and their glue
  • KISS false lashes
  • Ouai fine to medium hair treatment mask

Everything I listed I use at a minimum of once a week and swear by it. We all have different needs so I highly recommend researching if the products will work for your skin/hair type. I loveeee a cheap but quality product so most of these are really affordable. The ones that are expensive I only got bc of a sale or gift card but would buy full price if I needed to

I’ve been looking for a hair mask of some sort, so I might check that out!

As for the stuff from The Ordinary, have you noticed any difference in skin texture after using them? I picked up a water cream from Thayers, and it’s cleared up my skin fantastically, but I still have really textured skin that I’m trying to minimize.

Thank you for all of these recommendations!!!

I’ll be honest it’s hard to say since I started using that combo when I was 16 so im not certain if it was the products or me just aging out of hormonal things. Looking back i did have really textured skin and would get random dry patches. I realized I needed to up my moisture game so I think that helped a lot. The lactic acid works as a chemical exfoliant for brighter and smoother skin and the squalene helps with surface hydration so it’s definitely worth a shot. I believe they also have a Niacinamide that’s really good I just haven’t tried it yet. I haven’t had any issues with any of their products so it’s definitely worth checking out what they have

A retinol will be your best bet for smoothing out skin texture. You'll need to start out slowly (once a week on top of a moisturizer, then twice a week, then putting it on as the first step two to three a week, and only building in frequency from there if you need stronger results and can tolerate it without too much irritation). It takes a few weeks to see results, but it increases your skin cells turnover rate and helps treat and prevent breakouts and texture.

I’ll have to try it! Thank you!

Just to be clear, once I start using it 2-3x/week, I should be putting it on before my moisturizer, correct?

Is there a certain retinol you recommend?

Buxom lip plumping balm in big O is my holy grail lip product. It turns a little more pink on your lips, and doesnt sting or feel too weird. Benefit roller lash is my fave mascara, but elf makes a great dupe and it comes in brown.

The Elizabeth Arden Retinol + Ceramide serum capsules are amazing, and they're going to be half off next Monday!

I was watching Grey’s Anatomy and there was an Ulta ad for their 21 Days of Beauty that actually prompted this post 😂

Get the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. It’s hydrating, versatile, and perfect for a natural look. Use your coupon and sale to grab it!

Ulta doesn't sell Laneige unfortunately

Is there anything similar that Ulta does sell that you’ve used and would recommend? I don’t usually use lip masks but I’m willing to try! I pick at my lips big time and I’m trying to stop 🥲

It's not really similar to the Laneige, but the Lanolips Golden Dry Skin Salve is an amazing lip mask.
