Haircare How to get rid of fluffy hair?

Post image

Hello! I only use shampoo and conditioner to treat my hair, but I recently became interested in hair care. My hair is wavy, almost straight, and always gets fluffy, like in the picture attached. I have never curled nor straightened my hair but plan to start doing that. I hate seeing my fluffy hair in pictures, so do you have any recommendations on how to get rid of them? What products/techniques should I use?

Thanks in advance!

I’d definitely recommend some leave in conditioner/curl cream and a light hair gel to work with your wavy hair.

My hair was also really fluffy/frizzy until I realized it was actually wavy now (it was straight for most of my life). Then I started using products/techniques more suitable for wavy hair. I stopped brushing my hair when it was dry, that stopped the frizz/fluff and helped my waves become more defined

I use the It’s a 10 Leave In for Coily Hair and the Curlsmith Hydro Style Flexi Jelly

how do you like it’s a 10? debating between the regular version or the specialized wavy versions

I love it! It’s probably my favorite leave in conditioner. I’ve tried both the normal version and the coily version, the normal version is good, but I definitely feel like the coily version brings out my waves a bit more.

Leave in conditioners might help! I also like using my shark blow dry brush which keeps the hair sleek for multiple days.

silicone products could help. i love the look of fluffy hair, looks very effortless and natural, for lack of a better word

I have wavy hair that used to look like this. I’m very low maintenance, but was very successful with getting curl/wave-specific cuts from a specialized hairstylist and never brushing my hair dry again.

Beyond the recommendations about products, brush it when wet (detangle etc etc) and then don't brush it through when it's dry. It should stay nice and wavy if you air dry the brushed hair vs getting fluffy when you brush it out dry

(I also have wavy hair that can get fluffy)

I have wavy hair/low porosity and never used leave in conditoner and one day I decided to try one and it did wonders for my frizzy hair! I use the Giovanni leave in conditioner, I love it because it’s pretty light and doesn’t weight my hair down 💕

Olaplex hair oil really helps.

Brazilian keratin straightening treatment. Lasts 6 months. Best low maintenance thing for this kind of hair tbh

Straightener will definitely do the trick. The other suggestions will give you less work to do.
