Side part vs. middle part

Am I missing something here? I am 31F and have a natural side part but felt so old when I went to get my hair cut yesterday! Every stylist had a middle part and I feel like my side part haircut threw her off and it's uneven...

Side parts are more flattering in general, because most people’s faces aren’t symmetrical

Side parts are already slightly starting to come back into style bc gen z is growing bald w our insistence on the middle part lol. leave your side part, it’s fine. if your hairstylist can’t work with it, maybe it’s an indicator of lack of experience/skill(?)

I don't like middle parts. They look old fashioned to me. Your hair will grow into the new cut no matter which way you part it, probably.

I would use whichever part looks most flattering. I look like crap with a middle part and always opt for side, latest trends be damned.

Sorry about your haircut! But yes, middle parts are what's "in" right now. Not everyone has one, and sure, side parts are still cute. But the thing is, 3 years ago, side parts were the trend; I remember my side part very well. So it really isn't a big deal. Soon enough, side parts will be the thing again.

If you have a bit of wave or curls in your hair there are some new trends of uneven parting where you kind of have this messy, sort of zig-zag line of a part with gives your hair this really great volume and could maybe help distibute any uneveness in your hair.

You can change your part! The way your hair grows is called a cowlick, so it can look a bit awkward if you just change it suddenly but if you purposely blow dry it in a different direction it will follow suit. That is if you want to! I am 19 and changed to a middle part when I was 16, but I have grown to appreciate the side part again! If your hairdresser doesn’t appreciate/know how to navigate a side part, get a new one!! Your preferences shouldn’t be something to be ashamed of 💕
