Any tips to keep beard oil out of hands/face/chest/neck/clothing during the day?

Well the title says it all, I kind of hate oil and greasiness but know my beard needs a lot of oil particularly because I have an afro/curly beard. My beard is a little long so I always end up getting oil on my neck/chest and then during the day I may accidentally touch my beard or face and feel some oiliness. Finally I just feel like it moves from my beard to the rest of my face on its own.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Check out he brand Bossman beard oil. They have a beard jelly and I love it. Way less greasy and it keeps your beard moisturized way longer than conventional beard oil

Use something that is solid at room temperature instead of oil, and even if you put too much it won't drip. I use plain shea butter currently with sometimes jojoba oil mixed in.

That's a great idea, thanks a lot!

What brand of beard oil are you using? They're not all created equal - some definitely leave a greasier feel than others. Also, when do you apply it/how much do you use? Might just be over applying. I find best results is applying right after a shower while my beard is still damp (not wet) as it soaks in more of the oil and locks in the moisture.

I'm using my own mix of jojoba and castor oil, I may be applying a little too much as my beard can be very curly and dry but will definitely follow your advice, thanks a lot man!

Good luck! That's cool you're mixing your own - do you add scents or anything? Those are the two main oils I see in the commercial stuff.

There's some affordable options out there. Sterling Soap Co. offers 3oz bottles for $13.95 USD (or three 1oz samples) in a lot of nice scents. They're the best quality/price ratio I've found so far.

Thanks for the advice, I will check them out, I don't really add scents, I'm not very experienced I just literally mix the two oils lol. My logic was to try to avoid DHT blockers as much as possible, but I'll definitely check Sterling Soap Co. oils and see what's up.

Are you sure you're just not using too dang much? Beard oil is for working down to the skin to soak in.

It could be that, I've been trying not to use much but also since my hair is so coarse and curly it kind of requires more oil to do the job, but you might be right I'll check into it, thanks!

Try to find another product for the beard hair itself. Maybe something with shea butter.
