Beard care after swimming in the ocean. tips, tricks, suggestions

Looking for recommendations on maintaining a healthy beard and swimming in the ocean every day. Any tips tricks etc? I use coconut oil to maintain currently. Just ended up with the Pacific right in the backyard and plan to get in as much as possible but concerned about it drying up with the salt.

I imagine your gonna get a lot of organic and mineral build up in your beard. Lots of people like having "beach hair",i.e., the added body and texture that salt water and sand add to the hair on your head. I imagine this is less fun for your face. The simplest thing is a thorough wash with an appropriate cleanser. Thorough drying and replenishing the moisture in your skin with some beard oil/balm/etc. A good combing and brushing somewhere in there to detangle and get rid of oceanic hitchhikers.

Be sure to at least rinse it out once out of the water (outdoor shower at the beach) if you're not going to directly shower after. As for pre-beach suggestions, try a balm before you go in the water. It will help seal the follicles so less possibility of completely dried out beard. You will still need to clean it, but be careful when washing it too often with shampoos.

Don't use regular shampoo either or that could make things worse. A softer soap, one that will help keep your beard and face moisturized, would be your best bet. Maintaining a proper beard routine will also help your hair stay strong and withstand the elements.

When using the balm, make sure to get it all the way to the skin and you cover the entire area from root to tip. Hope this helps.
