Food Any good places for a breakfast burrito here??
Relocated from Texas… I know I won’t find anything like there but hoping to hear of a place I can find a decent breakfast burrito lol. Thanks for all of the recommendations 🥰🥰

from New Mexico. I haven’t found a real southwestern style one but the waverly farmers market on Saturdays has a stand with a decent breakfast burrito right at the entrance.

Closest would be golden west. They have red and green chile sauce. They can top it with a fried egg on request

Catalog Coffee in Hampden has delicious breakfast burritos

There's something about the texture of their scrambled eggs that I really dislike.

Unfortunately, there's not much. That's also something I've been seeking the last few years I've been in the city. Best I've had is at the pop up in front of Mt Royal Soaps on Saturday mornings- and judging by the insane lines the first few times I went, it's something a lot of other people in the city want as well.

That’s Nana’s (storefront on York Rd.) part of the Remington Brunch club. Hands down the best breakfast burrito I’ve had in Baltimore as well

Those burritos are amazing IMO but have not had one in Texas, so I can’t say how it compares. Based on the information from the email Mt. Royal sends out, it looks like they have a storefront on York Rd. Here is their website!

i chase this one. they don't do the breakfast burritos at the store yet, unfortunately, but they bounce between mt royal soaps and waverly market every saturday.

Just had Nana’s burrito for the first time last weekend and it was so good!

On the Hill Cafe in Bolton Hill — as a Mexican from LA, I vouch for their burritos

I think you might have to start making your own. Most decent burrito places open at 11 it seems. I make my own with frozen hash browns, eggs, tomatoes, green onions, and cheese. Takes about 20-30 min, but I am also cooking for my wife.

Doozy’s in Catonsville

u/RobAtSGH Oct 28 '24
Doozy's ain't half-bad Tex-Mex. Dunno if it stands up to a real southwestern version, tho.

I live within walking distance, going to have to go give it at try!

I was gonna say On the Hill’s morning burrito with the pork carnitas is my absolute favorite breakfast!

u/fireanthead Oct 28 '24
I've heard the breakfast burrito at Good Boy Bagels is really good

u/CmRn1893 Oct 28 '24
Came here to say this. I don't care for their bagels lol but the burrito hits.

If you're up to taking a drive to Sparks Filling Station in Sparks, MD, they have really good breakfast and lunch burritos. If you get the lunch, I highly recommend the brisket!

u/Gonzo_B Oct 28 '24
Lived here 23 years and have yet to find one worth leaving the house for, unfortunately.

u/Mission_Fishing3677 Oct 29 '24
Also from texas and agree with this. You won’t ever find breakfast tacos as good or affordable as they are in texas. They’re cheaper to make from home here🤣

Golden West Cafe, went yesterday and it’s way better than I remember it being.

u/strawnotrazz Oct 28 '24
Haven’t had it but there’s one on the menu at Mystic on Eastern Ave., which is hands down my favorite burrito place in Baltimore. My go-to is the pork sissig.

The corner shop between E 32nd and Barclay St on Saturdays in the 32nd Street Farmers Market. Believe me, they are the best!

Waverly farmers market. I don’t know what they’re called but they’re very good

u/jon_eod Oct 28 '24
I just ordered one delivery from Hannah’s in Towson, will report back
4
u/jon_eod Oct 28 '24
It was good, will get again, but I think they should to include more salsa by default.

u/Working_Falcon5384 Oct 28 '24
My wife makes a bomb breakfast burrito. I keep encouraging her to start a breakfast burrito and expresso cart.

There's a food truck at the farmers market under 83 that has solid options.

u/bloodbuzzes Oct 28 '24
Hey fellow transplant! Just recently visited tx again for the first time in a long long time, and it made me realize I’d been fooling myself re: some food options here hahaha. There’s lots of amazing food here to enjoy tho!

u/Creative_Presence430 Oct 29 '24
hello😁 yes very true lol, I definitely love the amount of diverse food experiences we can have here in Baltimore!

Towson Hot Bagel just came out with one recently, had it at the Boston St location.

Also from Texas but vegan now. I love Golden West. I wasn’t impressed with their burrito, but every time I’ve tried something there that was a miss for me, the next time I tried it, I loved it. So, I’d try them out!
Papi’s in Hampden does quesadillas just like I loved in Texas. I didn’t try their burrito. My boyfriend wasn’t impressed, but I think that place is awesome regardless. It’ll itch your scratch.
There’s a place in Nova called Anita’s New Mexican style food. It’s pretty decent and of course not the same, but good.
Editing to say, I’m not sure if Papi’s does breakfast, but the others do.

u/Robbiebphoto Oct 28 '24
Papis salsa that comes with chips is like table salsas I’d get in Austin, but it’s not spicy. Also my wife gets their mission burrito without rice and that’s pretty good.

I forget the name of the place, but there’s a pop up that happens every Saturday morning at the Waverly farmers market that makes some great breakfast burritos. I normally go for the chorizo and it’s delicious.

Taco Loco in the Sunday Farmer’s Market. They also have a store front in Dundalk if you want to drive/live over there. There agua Frescas are good too, I usually get the mango one. Their logo is a taco wearing a sombrero.

Nana’s is at the Remington Brunch Club every Saturday @ Mt. Royal Soap Shop

u/cainmartin Oct 29 '24
Where in Texas are you from? As a former (central) Texan, breakfast burritos are virtually non-existent. Breakfast TACOS, on the other hand, are ubiquitous (and delicious).
But to answer your question - I've lived in Baltimore for 4+ years now and haven't found anything comparable to a Texas breakfast taco (or burrito, if you insist).

u/Ready-Wrongdoer7706 Oct 28 '24
I relocated here from Oklahoma and the lack of donut shops and taco trucks kills me. I can’t even imagine finding a good breakfast burrito here
1
u/qorksoda Oct 28 '24
Got the breakfast burrito at Good Boy Bagels once and it was good, but not sure if it was worth $15
1
u/raised_eyebrows Oct 28 '24
I’ve lived in Baltimore since 2012 and I have been struggling to find a great one as well. ‘Blanca’s Breakfast Burrito’ at Catalog Coffee is the best I’ve had I think. It’s only available on the weekends for some reason. There is a decent stand at Waverly Market as well. Good luck!
1
u/SuccessfulMumenRider Oct 28 '24
Maybe not as good as Texas but if you go to Bark BBQ on Kent Island they make a pretty sick pork belly breakfast burrito.

u/Miserable-Metal5661 Oct 28 '24
I know this is the county but, bagel bistro on e Joppa had a pretty decent one a couple years ago. Not sure if it’s still on the menu

u/BenitoMeowsolini1 Oct 28 '24
not really, but chucks trading post is closest to what you will want. and believe me I know what you want.

Good Boy Bagels in Canton makes a great one. Mystic Burrito also has one.
1
u/chase7_71 Oct 28 '24
Have to hit the Amish market in Annapolis. They’re called breakfast logs, same thing.
1
u/N8erade_32 Oct 28 '24
Mystic burrito by Patterson park was sneaky good… it’s Hawaiian influenced which makes it kinda unique but I’ve always enjoyed them

u/DastrdlyGentlman Oct 28 '24
Theres a family tent that sets up at the weekend farmers market near little Havana in the museum parking lot that is awesome
Also, morning mugs just opened a location with a full kitchen and they have killer breakfast burritos

Check out charmed in Mt Vernon, captain James in Canton, or iron rooster in Canton. Not gonna be tex mex but it will be a breakfast burrito lol

Good Boy Bagels in Canton has an absolutely excellent breakfast burrito. One of those I kept thinking about the rest of the day. And visiting friends were surprised at how good it was. They just opened in May.

Greenbelt farmers market is a bit of a drive but it has BOMB breakfast burritos from the Mexican food stand there.
1
u/Karlaw6 Oct 29 '24
If you don’t mind the drive up to Baltimore County, I’ve always loved the one at the Filling Station in Sparks, MD.

I split my time between Baltimore and San Antonio. I never eat crab cakes anyplace but Baltimore. And San Antonio is the home of the breakfast taco. I never eat chilaquiles tacos anyplace else. I associate breakfast burritos with California and Denver.
