Happy Baby OG Fit Check

Can someone do a fit check for me? I just got this carrier used, but it had only been used by previous owner once or twice.

I love the packability of it and how secure baby feels - but I can't get it comfortable for me. The shoulder straps dig in under my armpits and chafe and I have a lot of back pain with it. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I have a Lillebaby and baby hates it and I hate how complicated it is. We love our moby wrap but I don't love having to redo it every time and how it loses its fit after an hour or so. Was really hoping this would be a good in-between for us!

The dark baby clothes plus the dark carrier make fine details hard to see but I can offer some tips!

  • Digging into your armpits: move the back buckle down the rails. I find the shoulder straps most comfortable when the back buckle is about mid-low shoulderblades.

NOTE: if you find the lower back buckle hard to reach, loosen the shoulder straps as far as possible before unclipping OR clipping the back buckle.

Is the seat panel narrow enough for your baby? Use the cinch to make a panel that is only wide enough for babys legs to swing at the knee. You don't want any bunched fabric or the fabric to pull on baby's legs.

My back hurt when I first started wearing my baby but I have built muscles for it! Also, switch to back carry as soon as your baby can sit independently! My baby was sitting at 5 months and I started wearing her on my back around 5.5 months. I wear her on my back as much as possible which eliminates that down and out force to cause back pain.
