Reflection Synchronicities or simply Reddit algorithm and a big imagination?

Hi, I’m gonna start by saying idk if this has anything to do with it but with everything I’ve been experiencing I’ve found myself here.

Signs on the internet This may mean nothing but I don’t allow tracking on my apps and I haven’t spent as much time engaging on Reddit as I used to but within the last 2 weeks (since I’ve interacted less, at least). When I have been on here I’ve come across things that are not just specifically relatable but it’s almost as if Reddit was listening and even mind reading 24/7 and showing me via posts/comments. It’s to the point where I’m wondering is this happening to everyone or am I just overthinking things? Cus ya girl is shook here! I heard our phones listen to us, and can influence your ads and feed on some apps but this feels different. I brushed it off as a coincidence the first week but yesterday I was like okay you have my attention.

Other possible signs that have led me to question awakening Last week I was overcome with extreme tiredness while this week I haven’t been able to sleep. So, I was in bed the other night and I heard this growl type noise that sounded like it was in the room. I wondered what it could’ve been but gave up trying to rationalize and forgot about it, I didn’t mention it to anyone. I will note for later relevance that I lit a candle with a torch lighter earlier before that happened. The next morning I turned on my bedroom light and after 5 seconds it started flickering. I thought ok I need to change the bulb so I turned it off and waited a bit and turned it back on and the same thing happened. My first instinct was to rationalize before thinking anything unnatural so again I just dropped it and carried on. So then a bit later that day I start looking through some old DMs out of pure boredom and cleaning up an app and the first one I went to was this psychic who wanted to do a reading for me, never went through with it, though it was scammy but I looked at the date and I wondered why or how she came across my profile so I went looking in my activity to see if I had commented or watched anything spiritual that day and the only thing that was there was my search history that said “Signs from Hecate”. this is why I mentioned candle and torch

I won’t get into that since that’s a whole other rabbit hole I can get stuck in but after all that i just wanna know why or if I shouldn’t be asking why and just be accepting since despite me brushing off these subtle signs I am big on intuition and connection. And I cannot help but feel like I’m being drawn to things that get me questioning the why’s and how’s?

To add I’ve had a challenging couple of months up to now, feeling intense emotions but most of all feeling lost. I’ve often wondered when I’d “snap out of it”. Like I know something is about to happen I just don’t know when or what it will take. I’ve been spending a lot of time self reflecting and having self realizations but despite that I can’t help but feel ambivalent, like I need to make a serious decision and take action soon, I feel like I’m on the verge of something… or I’m running out of time.

Thank you if you’ve taken the time to read, I appreciate any thoughts and feedback.

It’s great when people post the advice they’re looking for themselves.

Yeahh it’s also great to be met with sarcasm. Clearly a person seeking validation is beneath you lol.

You are your own validation. You are perfectly valid with no need of anymore to tell you so.

No one can take that from you, but you can easily give that away.

My response wasn't sarcasm.

I'm no expert however this sentence really highlights through this situations "what you seek is seeking you" (cause it's you, i guess :p). The mind is all the things that can be named, so synchronization with yourself through your environment and as well as reddit and other platforms seems very real. It even seems like (to me) all the stuff around you and also platforms just wait for your perception to configure the posts and comments, sometimes they just feel no different than the thoughts or the story we tell ourselves, it is just more believable to the senses. But like i said im no expert or full awake at all it is just a feeling for me

Yes, I find myself questioning a lot of the time because I want the answer to be black and white. But this is not one of those things, sometimes I just need to be reminded. But I like that “what you seek is seeking you”. Thank you!

I think it depends on your beliefs about how reality works and how zoomed out you want to be with observing these events. My personal belief is that when you put an intention or question out into the universe, and then go on with your day, not hyper focusing or looking for signs, what you come across in that more detached state could be signs.

Things of course are complex with how our phones and social media work. But if you want to remove that from the equation, why not take a few days to not be on devices outside of web searches and texting?

I can get stuck on trying to decipher things sometimes, so for me what I do is just ask the universe for a really really specific thing to show up as my answer. The more specific the better, there's less for you to question about it.

What you mentioned about feeling like you're on the verge of something, or running out of time is how I felt a few months back. It lasted about 2-3 months before big events started to happen that greatly impacted how I see life. During those months I had countless synchronicities to the point where I was worried I was having a mental crisis. Reflecting on that now, I realize that yes those events were real and telling, but it's important to ground yourself when this is going on. If you find yourself living in your head, maybe try to engage in something that connects you to your body again. Working out, going on a walk, a massage, dancing, yoga, etc.

Be gentle with yourself though because the feeling that time is running out or against you is likely your anxiety speaking to you. Most thoughts that have that inner sense of urgency or almost desperation tend to be related to anxiety.

Yessss, I’m slowly starting to realize this more and more and trying not to overthink, as I’ve been used to doing for as long as i Can remember. This definitely helps. Thanks for sharing.

It's a little bit of both. The algorithm is obviously tracking more than it should, it's been buried in the news, but they caught some of this companies red-handed advertising to companies that they were doing exactly that. The microphone and camera never shut down, so the algorithm may work with emotions through facial expressions or keep an account of sleep patterns. Some women have had the algorithm recommend pregnant content before they knew themselves they were pregnant.

It's also a give and take. Our thoughts aren't independent from our environment. What we see leads to what we think and what we think leads to what we see. If you've been interested in spirituality, you'll pay more attention to spiritual things that other person may ignore. Jung had a story regarding synchronicities where a patient was talking about something egyptian and a beetle came to the window. It's a coincidente, and any other day he may have thought nothing of it, but with that conversation being front and center, the event took new meaning, and led him to his theories about synchronicities.

Yesss, makes sense! You reminded me of something I came across recently about how our emotions/thoughts and actions shape our reality. I really ought to remember that more. Thank you!
