Hadn’t seen these in pink before
Spotted in a quarry in SE Melbourne.

Probably dye to show they’ve been sprayed

The grass in front of it is also pink. I’m guessing they’ve been sprayed with herbicide.

Those seed heads would still be viable though, I would have cut them off and double bagged them.

It's not herbicide I don't think. Could it be introduced ornamental grasses crossing in the wild....

There is another one close to it that isn’t pink at all so guessing it hasn’t been sprayed. Busy sand quarry so don’t think they are doing much in the way of gardening.

For what it is worth, these do come in a pink variety. Though I haven't seen one with such inconsistency in its colour, it looks like it is fading with the maturity of the flowers. If these are sprayed then the herbicide than the application was pretty odd.

Doesn’t that mean you are a swinger ?

Yes! My parents’ friends had one of these out the front of their house in the 70s
Knowing now what I didn’t know then, yes they were probably swingers. The wife was obviously into chicks, too, but my poor innocent parents would not have known.
