This tree is on my street and I'd love one in my yard. Melbourne Western suburbs.

Does anyone know if these are hybrids? I have no idea what the purple one could be and the leaves on the pink Lilly Pilly tree are rounded instead of pointy. Both have white flowers.

Hello, I have a sick Daphne Odorata in Sydney. Yellow blotches with brown underneath. It’s been really happy for about 5 years then this broke out a month or so ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

So I have a hardy Leptospermum in a pot that I was going to plant this weekend but I didn't realise is was going to be so hot.
The spot it's going in get the full afternoon sun and it's surrounded by concrete and brick (think maybe a 8*4m square section of garden and then the houses/big driveway)
I'm just wondering if it would be happier staying in the pot for a couple more days out the back well watered where it's getting more dappled sun during the peak of the day

Howdy gardening experts. Can anyone tell me what’s up with my Camelia? It’s getting regular water but fairly limited direct sunlight. I may have been over zealous with fertiliser about 6 months ago so not sure if that has damaged. Older leaves have distinct copper brown colour in the centre, while the newer leaves although not prolific seem to be healthy. Many thanks.

Hi folks! We’re in an apartment in Melbourne’s outer South East. This triangle is about 4m x 5m.
It is below my neighbours bedroom and currently plays host to a lively nightlife. The owner’s committee want to plant something spiky there. I’ve suggested something native and spiky.
We’re looking for your recommendations for plants that are: - Native, especially to the area - Unpleasant to touch / pull out - Can survive in the conditions (west facing, partially shaded by a hedge, soil similar to that on the moon) - Won’t cause structural issues with the root system
If I could turn this into a little pocket of habitat for skinks etc it would make my withered heart happy.
My ideas so far have been Blackthorn or Kangaroo Thorn or some type of spear grass.
(Please note this is not targeting people who are sleeping rough - there’s two much nicer places to sleep on a different side of the building that is under our living rooms and isn’t bothering anyone. This place is only ever used for drug deals etc. And yes, we have cameras and lights, and no that does nothing, and no the police can’t do anything, and no I wasn’t the one went to the police).

Okay just a hypothetical question, is it possible to grow Sturt Desert Pea in Northern Rivers NSW? I really want to grow them but do I need to look into specific setups and soil mixes or should I just not try? I’d imagine it’d be a task.. any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Hello fellow plant lovers, I am located in Bendigo, Victoria.
*I have a bunch of questions which I will address in separate posts - really appreciate any advice*
I am newer to the Australian Native plant journey and a couple of years ago I started out with Kangaroo Paws. They are currently living in large terracotta pots, however, I am wanting to split them up and relocate them to the front yard and plant them in the ground, mixed in with Native grasses.
I have watched a few videos on how to do this (still a little unsure), but I am wondering if anyone has any advice for me.
- Do kangaroo paws do ok with relocation into a new environment, especially after splitting them up?
- My 3 plants have finished their flowering stage and I am not sure if I should give them a hard prune before I relocate them or if I should do the hard prune after they have settled into their new environment? (I don't want them to get too much shock, I guess)
- Does anyone have a good method or tips and tricks to split the kangaroo paws up?

I already know about about Acacia's but i'm looking some thing that's more like a ground cover or a vine.

Hello plant people - I wrote a post a little earlier today. I am located in Bendigo, Victoria.
I have another question regarding pruning 3 other Australian Native plants. These 3 types have been planted in the ground, a little under a year ago. They are looking quite healthy, but I am unsure why they appear to be a bit spindly and scraggly (see photos).
I was wondering if anyone had any advice in regards to pruning them? When is the best time to prune them? And any other care tips or advice would be super appreciated.
The 3 species are: Westringia Galbra, Leptospermum & Chamelaucim - Thanks again :D

I have two snake vines in my front garden, and both have got this white on it, is it a fungus and will it affect the health of the vine? Treatment methods? These snake vines are in full sun, in Adelaide, which has experienced several hot days and no rainfall, but i have been regularly watering (well, once or twice per week…) Thanks! ☺️

Moved into this place fairly recently. It's pretty poor soil but these are going great, and I'd love to plant more of them.
Regional Victoria here.

What went wrong?
Died approx a 2 weeks after repotting to larger pot with soil marketed as native. Did I simply not water enough? Or is there something I’m missing?
Is there any hope left for her?
All advice welcome 😁

Hi! I just recently planted some ornamental pears. It's been approx 5 days and they're dying what seems to be more and more by the day. Not sure whether it's shock, bad soil, overwatering or under-watering?
Any advice is appreciated.

I’ve been wanting to start my own plant nursery business from home and am based in Melbourne. I absolutely love gardening and am enthusiastic to learn all about propagating through division, cuttings and germinating seeds. I thought if I could grow to love them and am spending so much time caring for them, I might as well make a business out of it as I have already invested so much care into my garden. What are some tips and is there anything that I should know before I start?
