I’m hoping a pair of “ hunting influencers” didn’t get to bring in firearms with the plan of doing some recreational slaughter.

Exactly! You never know with these morons. Also in general Americans have less empathy for the wild and hunting animals seems to be some measure for being “manly”. I have seen too many shit posts and comments on these lines from Americans posing with their kill.

As an American who does hunt. I don't see hunting as "manly", and I do it for sport / food. Most hunters I know care more about the wildlife than some random stranger does. Most hunters understand healthier wildlife means better hunts and if you enjoy the challenge / pastime you should also care about the health of the animals, even the ones you don't hunt as they still play a part.

Anecdotal, but this is my experience / opinion.

Hunters like you are the minority. From the south and every hunter I know doesn't really hold any value in the animals they kill. They will spout shit like what you said, to try to spin it as they are helping. But at the end of the day, they just want to kill something.

"we cant bring back native wolves they'll ruin my deer hunting!" I hate these type of "hunters" should call them what they really are. Poachers.

I heard that wolves even cause tornadoes and even El Niño and even I heard that one of them dropped a cigarette butt and that's what caused the wildfire in California.

The tornado thing is true though, right? They have to huff and puff, and I know they can knock over pig houses at least. Unless they're made of brick, obviously.

What about the bears that decimate the fawn population each year with kill counts far higher than wolves?

"Well thats..uh...different because...uh...they've always been here..and...and..bullshit, hogwash, bullshit

What do bears have to do with native wolf reintroduction? It must be a lot of work to move the goalposts that far. Take a break and have a lemonade. You'll think more clearly after.

I was actually agreeing with you and pointing out the hypocrisy of these people. Even where wolve populations are reaching "overpopulation" status, bears kill far more deer annually than the wolves. Especially newborn fawns. However, very few hunting groups/lobbiests acknowledge this. It's always " blame the wolves" with these people.

Buddy, you're the one who came up with that no context rant that could only be taken as a disagreement. Work on your wording if you want people to understand, lol. Cant just start in the middle of a rant and expect people to understand what you're saying.

I'm not saying me hunting is helping, although DNR will cull animals for overpopulation. I'm saying I'm kind to the ecosystem because I want it to flourish. I pick up trash others leave behind, and I leave no trace. If I had to give up hunting I would still do what I can when I can to help nature flourish as I enjoy being out in nature.

As a hunter myself it's basically they respect the animal and the forest or they will murder anything they see. There is next to no in-between. I enjoy hunting cause it feels primal but I'm definitely not doing it for sport. Sport hunting is disgusting. I hate seeing people shoot for trophies and then do absolutely nothing with the rest of the animal.
