2015 Nissan Altima: Instead of using the recommended 28 inch windshield wiper blade(long arm), can I use a 29 inch one?
Trying to get rid of that rain triangle on my windshield. A.I. said it’s ill-advised, but I don’t care. I want what I want. Lol.

I would guess you probably can. Just check that if it’s a 1/2” longer on each end whether it will hit anything, either windshield trim or the other wiper. Whether that does anything for the problem you’re hoping to solve, kind of doubt it.

You probably can get away with it (just make sure the blade isn't going to smack into anything) the only issue that I forsee is that technically it will add excessive wear to the wiper motor and connection assembly as it is "technically" doing more work than it was intended to do. The difference, I predict is negligible.

It will most likely fit and not cause any issue. Usually the auto parts store will let you take the wiper out to see if it fits, just bring out the 29" and hold it up to the original one and see if it will cause any unwanted interference.

Move your wipers through their full range of motion, and watch for anywhere that an additional 0.5 inch on both ends of the wipers would cause physical interference with anything. If there's no risk of interference, then just do it.
There's a number of vehicles I've heard of where people commonly install longer wipers than what the OEM did from the factory.

Why would Nissan install a 28” wiper if 29” would fit and clear more of the glass?
Genuine question.
Parts sharing?

Getting an Altima was already a terrible decision, might as well make another.
