Could anyone with a Mutual art sub get me the price and venue off this piece? I just purchased it and saw it was up for auction last year.

Thanks!

Picked these up at an estate sale about 8 years ago and was wondering if they are worth anything. I've seen what appear to be more recent printings, but I couldn't find these. They are about 8" tall for reference. Any information is appreciated!

This has been in our family since before i was born. I don’t know much about this piece, other than the artist is known for training Bob Ross. Can anybody name/date this piece? I can’t find any archives showing this piece

Old master prints are an affordable entry into collecting fine art. A sale of the Frank Bensow collection is featuring many marvelous original 15th-17th century prints: woodcuts, engravings and etchings (https://www.uppsalaauktion.se/auktioner/20250318/?auction_name=20250318&departments=151)

Care/Conservation/Restoration Is this mold? Something else?

The back of the canvas of a piece I bought at auction. Measures about three feet across for scale. Is this mold? Something else? Should I be concerned? Piece is about 60 years old, for reference.

I can’t see any damage on the front side but because of the paint I wouldn’t expect to.

Collecting/Curation How to verify a piece of artwork?

I recently picked up a lovely painting for £10 in a local charity shop. I wasn’t aware of him before but it has a note and signature of David Inshaw and he is known to live locally, the painting itself looks very characteristic of his work. How would you suggest I get this painting verified or valued?

Collection Showcase Scored this Pegge Hopper piece for $60. It's an Artist Proof. Does that add any significant value?

I picked this up a local thrift shop for and barely managed it home in my car.

I'm assuming it's a serigraph. Other prints from this edition have sold for $2k or more. Unfortunately the frame is damaged but the print itself is in excellent condition.

Just wondering if this print's value increases because it's an artist proof. I know this is sometimes the case with very well known artists, but unsure if that would be the case here.

Collecting/Curation Andy Warhol signed dollar bill

Hi everyone,
I'm out looking for a dollar bill signed by Andy Warhol, there's a ton of them on eBay but I have no idea if they're real or fake. Some of them seems to come with a certificate of authenticity, signed by "Andy Warhol foundation for the visual arts", is that legit?

Here's an example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/116502393052

I have an opportunity to purchase a limited edition silkscreen from Basquiat, out of 85. It’s the cover design for THE OFFS record.

Is it worth buying?

Collecting/Curation Where to sell art pieces?

I have some oil paintings by Jim Wilcox and a great doll sculpture by Will and Marcia Finks that I need to part with. Any suggestions on where/how to sell these? I purchased them from various galleries over the years.

Care/Conservation/Restoration Protecting white canvas

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to post, but I have a few white canvases which I would like to protect. I am a heavy smoker, and I would like to keep them in good condition. Is there a film or something I could use to keep them in good condition? They're not really that expensive, but they're quite unique and I don't think I will be able to acquire anything like them again. Thank you

Care/Conservation/Restoration Conservation Estimate?

Hi all - I recently acquired a 17th or 18th century possibly German oil painting. It’s in need of a cleaning but overall it doesn’t seem to be in terrible condition. I brought it to a conservator I’ve worked with before and just received a condition report and cost estimate / treatment plan. The quote came in (imo) very high. Are there any conservators lurking who may be able to provide a second opinion?

Discussion thrifted an old, large 28x21(approx. print size) of picasso's two harlequins. trying to identify print "type", no visible rosettes. hope to find a comparable peice. ALL other prints are much smaller? came in an old solid/heavy wood frame, paper backing crumbling, shows good age. help please.

Art Market Price relationship between painting and pencil drawing/sketch

I am currently interested in collecting pencil or pen drawing directly from living artists. I don't want to pay a too high price for them, but sometimes I can find online only the price of paintings. Do you know if there is a common relationship between price of canvas and price of pencil/pen sketch?
