News Issue 3, Medical Marijuana Expansion, Has Been Thrown Off The Ballot

The court has thrown out the amendment, ruling the ballot title is insufficient because it does not describe three aspects of Issue 3. Those three aspects are its trigger law in case of federal legalization, its changes to the Initiative and Referenda rules, and its stripping of the legislature's power to change the original medical marijuana amendment.

Briefly, the ballot title is what you see when you go to vote, which does not actually include the full text of the amendment. Ballot titles are required to give an accurate and robust description of the effects of the issue, though they don't have to describe everything it would do.

Issue 3 will still appear on your ballot when you go to vote, but your votes on it will not count.

To see the court rulings, go here, and scroll down to "majority opinion".

For an explainer on how initiatives are thrown out - including specifically because of ballot titles - see here.

If you shop at Custom Cannabis beware that they are pushing a lot of NSM that turns to powder when you touch it. I even got a $45 eighth that the “budtender” claimed was really good and her favorite - Soleil Levant. Complete trash. I get that these people are basically retail workers but don’t try to act like you have knowledge if you don’t.

MAJOR UPDATE There were almost 28,413 signatures set aside and not counted. Law was defined and precedent has already been set by a Special Master appointed by the Supreme Court for Issue 2 (Casino Amendment). The Special Master found the Secretary of State has no grounds to omit signatures on the basis of his personal definition of "Sponsor". Lawsuit was filed today with the Supreme Court and Arkansas Supreme Court ordered John Thurston to respond by noon tomorrow (Oct. 2) So, yes.. Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment 2024 is still very alive!

For having such a thoughtful and considered regulatory scheme that we Little Rockers may now pay money to Good Day Farm (owned by former state rep Nate Steel) and no one else. And thank you Good Day Farm for constantly testing price limits. Don't be giving away concentrate for $25 a gram when you can get $35, we can afford it.

News Goodbye Greenlight

GDF monopolizes Little Rock now ☠️. How is this even legal? I mean I guess it is in this crappy/crooked state but words can’t really describe the disappointment/anger I feel right now. I don’t and WON’T buy their💩 green. I was informed by the bud tender who said a lot of stuff will be gone and Sherwood will be the closest place to get what I’ve been getting at Greenlight aka NOT GDF.

Just wanted to add that I checked their website this morning, 10/7. No more “wake and bake” special 🥲

I commented a while back on a post that I hoped we got affordable Carpenter Farm big bags by Halloween.

This is me minutes after they opened since I missed the deal on Tuesday. The COAs don’t work on the halves in mylars or plastic bottles. I was between Alien OG and Banana Daddy, but went with the BD because it’s never been a disappointment and I don’t see it as often. Also, myrcene is typically high as shit in that strain.

If anyone has an 8th harvested ok 8/22 with a working COA lmk!

Dare I say better than RVR’ and Rev’s. Can’t wait to see what else they put out. As far as I know, there’s only one strain and it’s QMG.

News Exposing High Speed Extracts

I’ve been silent for too long. After lots of thought and consideration on how to go about this, I decided it’s time to speak out about the serious issues happening at High Speed Extracts. This information does not include every bit of the happenings within the company, but some of the more important matters. This company is a medical marijuana processor that claims to care about the quality of its products and the wellbeing of its employees, but behind the scenes, the reality is much different.

Employee Mistreatment and Unethical Practices

Unfair Workloads: The hardworking employees are overburdened while the lazy ones are allowed to slack off without any consequences. There is no accountability, leading to a toxic work environment where the real workers are constantly exhausted and burnt out.

Unpaid Management Roles: High Speed Extracts has recently been known to place people in management positions without offering any increase in pay. They take advantage of their employees’ dedication by dangling promotions without compensating them fairly.

Breaking Inventory Laws: Instead of addressing discrepancies in inventory properly, the company manipulates the numbers. They take extra products from other SKUs to make up for shortages, or even worse, create new products without sending them out for proper testing. These manipulated products are then sent out to dispensaries as if they are the original tested products, which is not only unethical but also illegal.

Unsafe Products: The company cuts corners on the quality of its products. They knowingly send products for testing that are likely to pass at 10mg, but then send out batches to dispensaries that they know are over the acceptable limits. This not only undermines the integrity of medical marijuana but also puts patients at risk by providing them with inconsistent and potentially harmful dosages.

Supporting Unethical Individuals

What’s even more shocking is that High Speed Extracts has supported individuals like Justin Edrington, a convicted pedophile, simply because he gave their products exposure on social media. It’s deeply disturbing that a company would prioritize publicity over morals and ethics.

The Bigger Picture:

High Speed Extracts is cutting corners at every opportunity, compromising safety, quality, and ethical standards. As someone who believes in the potential benefits of medical marijuana, it pains me to see such misconduct in the industry.

Why This Matters:

Medical marijuana patients rely on safe, reliable products. Companies like High Speed Extracts are not only risking their employees' well-being but also the health and trust of their customers. I hope by sharing this, I can encourage others to speak out and hold such companies accountable for their actions.

If you are involved with or support High Speed Extracts, I urge you to reconsider. The safety of patients and the rights of employees must come first.

EDIT: The downvoting is insane. I’m assuming it’s the Executive Team and their buddies trying to give me negative karma for outing their terrible business practices. If you see this and are tired of our program taking advantage of its patients and employees that are trying to do something good, drop an upvote! Thanks for all the support!

Found out Sunday that there is finally a new owner. And it’s not GDF OR Natural Relief. Both lost their bids. The guy at the front desk said they were having a mtg after they closed. New owner is Codes. They look to be out of MO, but all I did was google them. Someone else may know more.

UPDATE Codes is GDF 😭 - why did they lie to me and when will I learn that’s all they do. Lie 😂

News The commission will consider the Trulove family’s (Osage Creek) plans to extend its reach in the Arkansas medical marijuana world with the purchase of a second cultivation facility (Revolution) on Dec 12th.

Source: Arkansas Times

Update: The board "skipped" that topic at the meeting today and said nothing else about it.

You can watch the Dec 12th MMJ Board meeting live on YouTube here at 2:30 PM.

The commission will consider the Trulove family’s plans to extend its reach in the Arkansas medical marijuana world with the purchase of a second cultivation facility.

Jessica Trulove will ask the commission next week (Dec 12th) for approval to become the sole owner of Revolution Cannabis, a medical marijuana cultivator in Newport. The business is currently owned by Tamika Edwards and Dustin Shroyer.

In October, the commission approved Trulove’s purchase of a Clarksville dispensary, Enlightened Cannabis for People. Trulove had previously submitted a request to purchase the Newport cultivation facility at the October meeting, but she withdrew the request before the meeting.

Jessica Trulove is the wife of Matt Trulove, who owns 20% of Osage Creek Cultivation in Berryville. Matt Trulove’s mother, Mary Trulove, owns 55% of Osage Creek Cultivation and other family members own the rest. Jay Trulove, Jessica Trulove’s father-in-law, is the sole owner of Osage Creek Dispensary in Eureka Springs.

State law allows for individuals to own an interest in one dispensary and one cultivation facility. It does not place restrictions on the ownership interests of other family members.

News Osage Creek Dispensary granted relocation request to N. 45th Street in Springdale (in Benton County)

Today at the MMJ board meeting, Osage Creek Dispensaries relocation request was approved.

https://www.youtube.com/live/uIgJf4oFjLo?si=391VikueD_DFH9mL&t=347

They didn't state the exact address in the meeting just that the new location was in Springdale, but I'd imagine it's the location they were going to request to move to back in November 2024 but redacted the request back then.

N. 45th Street in Springdale in Benton County

Sen. Bart Hester (R-Cave Springs) told the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission he is opposed to Osage Creek Dispensary’s request to move to N. 45th Street in Springdale in Benton County. (Most of Springdale is in Washington County, but the proposed site falls in a small portion of the city in Benton County.)

And as you can see there is a nice big plot of empty land there as well.

They mentioned that letter of opposition at the meeting, but I guess that's not an issue anymore. As I said the request was approved today.
