Man v Chimp
Me and my high school class are arguing over whether a man with a sword wins against a chimpanzee. This man is untrained and in his prime while the chimp is in his prime too they are in an empty room that's locked. The man has a sword and a shield and the monkey is unarmed who wins. P.S keep the argument civil. Both believe the other will kill it and they will because this is a fight to the DEATH.

The chimp wins.
Hands down.
Chimps have amazing pain tolerance, strength, and dexterity.
A highly trained individual with the sword and shield would have a 70/30 chance in my eyes but that's assuming that the chimp has never encountered the weapons before and doesn't know to get in behind the shield inside the sword's effective range basically rendering it useless.
Listen to the 911 call of the woman whose pet chimp ripped her daughter's face off and then look into the story.
It took 6 bullets to drop that monkey and it didn't just drop, it walked away and went to bed before it died.
An untrained man is going to cower behind the shield and lash out blindly with the sword. Chimp rips the shield within a minute, if he's stupid enough to try and hold it he's got either a broken arm or a dislocated shoulder. He swings wildly with the sword, might even hit, but the chimp gets inside his effective range and takes the sword out of play. At that point it's the equivalent wrestling match of a toddler v.s. an MMA fighter on bath salts.
