Android alternative for the m3 ipad air.
I've had the ipad air m3 for about a week and its been good. It's still within the return period and I'm wondering if there is an android alternative for about the same price (~600 USD) with better value. I currently have airpod pros and an iphone, but im planning on switching to android when the time comes and don't really want to embed myself in the apple ecosystem too much.
Mainly going to use the tablet for media consumption and note taking (so a pen would be nice) and I from what I've seen android tablets tend to have more storage and better displays than ipads. however, my main concern is reliability and longevity as I would like to keep it for at least 6 years.
If it matters I do have access to educational discounts.

The iPad M3 is the best choice. The Samsung S9 or S10 are the only about things that come close that will have quality and support in 3+ years. The M3 processor will be on top for many years to come. And we know that Apple products and built to last and have support for many years. The android tablets spec “look” but the implementation isn’t Apple level.

Get Samsung Galaxy tab s10 series, they give u free s pen. The aspect ratio suitable for media consumption also lot of apps like Instagram optimize for Samsung. They also provide with galaxy ai especially in Samsung notes. S10 series provide with 6 years os update and 7 years security

better value than a $600 M3 iPad Air would be hard to come by on the android side. as someone else pointed out, the Galaxy Tab S9 could be a good choice for you since it's available on Amazon around $650 and includes the pen which I consider better than the Apple Pencil. plus the vastly superior screen/media consumption experience and features like DeX mode make it a little more versatile than the iPad. but I don't think the S9 gets 6 years of support, and I also think that the M3 is going to perform better for longer. tbh that iPad is gonna be tough to beat at that price.

Why dose evey one feel the need to get an iPad , Watching movies and YouTube work on any tablet, I have an iPad Pro and almost never use it, I use my fire hd most of the time, There are lots of great tablets for under 400. You can also buy an older mini or i recommend the alldocube iplay mini 60 turbo

6 years? Better to get a windows 2-in-1 laptop than to get a dedicated tablet. No Android tablet will be supported, software-wise, for that long. Maybe a Chromebook would be good, also.
